The day of the last lesson was full of regret and sadness. When Franz entered the school the usual hustle and bustle was missing. The school was as quite as Sunday morning. After this event Franz found that m Hamel had put on his beautiful green coat and frilled shirt ,all embroided. When Franz found that the empty back benches was full. There the villagers were sitted , the old Hauser, postman, etc . That day m Hamel behaved very kind. When he announced that this was our last lesson all the people present in the class become solemn and feel sorry for not attending the class. At last when the watch stuck 12 m Hamel took a piece of chalk and as big as he can wrote he wrote Long live french in French language.

The tigers created by Aunt Jennifer were bright yellow in colour, free and prancing. They have a very majestic position in the world of animals. Those tigers are a symbol of freedom and fearlessness, which Aunt Jennifer always wanted to achieve.

Sadao was a Japanese surgeon. He studied in America and returned with Hana, a Japanese girl whom he met there, and married her in Japan and settled down comfortably. While most of the doctors were sent to serve the Japanese army in the World War II, Sadao was allowed to stay home because he was wanted by the old General who was dying. But one night into his uneventful life came an American Navy-man, shot, wounded and dying. Though unwilling to help his enemy, Sadao took the young soldier into his house and provided him with medical aid. He was in danger from that moment. Soon his servants left him. Dr. Sadao saw that the soldier was getting well and absolutely alright. Once his patient was no more in need of him, the doctor turned out to be his assassin, conspiring to kill him in his sleep. He informed the General of the American and the General promised, he would send his private men to kill the American. Sadao awaited the American’s death every morning but to his gloom the man was still alive, healthier and posing danger to him. At this point Sadao becomes the real man in him, a true human being who realizes the essential worth of human life and universal brotherhood. He thinks beyond countries and continents and races and wars. He finds no reason to believe that the American is his enemy. Sadao rescues the American. Thus Sadao rises above narrow prejudices and acts in a truly humanitarian way.

The last lesson is basically taught us to love our own language as in the story in the beginning franz and other childrens didn't focus on their language or never take it seriously but when the order came from Berlin that only German will be taught in the school of Alsace and Lorraine they all were so sorry and feeling guilty towards their language and always leave it for the other day to learn. For Franz all his books, bag were his old friends now he didn't want to leave it. M. Hamel also added that it was not only a mistake of childrens to not to learn their language it was a mistake of the parents also as they don't want to teach them and the only thing they want is to earn money from their work and said it was of himself(M. Hamel) also as he didn't send children to watering their plants , he didn't send children for fishing when he didn't want to teach. In the end M. Hamel also said that France is the most logical and beautiful language in the world. Our own language is a key of prison which can relieve us from any of the situation. So, in this way this chapter told us to learn our own language so that we can be proud of knowing our own language.
