I m not satisfied wth the answer...?

Gaurav Seth 7 years ago

The stranger's arrival in Iping created a curious impression. It was due to two odd incidents otherwise the circumstances of his stay until the extraordinary day of the club festival may have been passed over cursorily. There were a number of skirmishes with Mrs Hall on matters of domestic discipline but it was not until late April when the first signs of his penury became apparent, he used to override her objections with extra payment. Hall did not like him and wanted to get rid of the stranger. He was a bit overbearing but the fact that his bills punctually worked in his favour. The stranger did not even go to church and there was no difference in his costume whether it be Sunday or irreligious days. He worked fitfully and some days he would come down early and be continuously busy. On other days, he would rise late, pace his room, fret audibly for hours, smoke and sleep in the armchair by the fire. Communication with the world beyond was not in his itinerary. His temper was uncertain, he had the manner of a man suffering under almost unendurable provocation and once or twice things were snapped, torn, crushed or broken in spasmodic gusts of violence. He rarely went abroad by daylight but at twilight he would go out muffled up invisibly whether it was cold or not. He chose the loneliest paths and those most overshadowed by trees or banks. His goggling spectacles and ghastly bandaged face under the penthouse of his hat, came with a surprising suddenness out of the darkness upon one or two home going labourers. He seemed to come across as a bogeyman to children.

M.Hamel writes 'vive la franz ' on the blackboard.

This phrase means long live France.

M. Hamel was saddened by the fact that German language was imposed on the people of France. He respected his country and also descibed French as the most beautiful of all the languages. He was aware of the fact that he won't be able to teach French from the next day. So it shows his affection towards his country .

The mushrooming of coaching centers all over the cities big or small, metros or districts highlight the growing trend of students opting for coaching classes apart from the regular curriculum. Once upon a time coaching was a rare phenomenon, generally unheard of and only taken by those who were weak in their studies. But now it is a way of life for students, aggressively promoted by the teachers and too some extent by the parents also. It is an age of cut-throat competition.Everyone seems to be a rival here. But the heat of competition is felt more acutely in the academic world.Students are worried about their uncertain future. Most of the parents want that their children should become engineers or doctors. They don’t want to leave anything to chance. They don’t want to leave anything to chance. They don’t trust the ability and competence of their children.Sending their children to coaching centers has become an obsession with them.It has resulted in the mushrooming of coaching centres in every town and city throughout the country.

A berth in a prestigious engineering or medical college is the dream of every student and his parents. The study of arts and commerce has taken a back seat.Coaching centres spend lakhs of rupees on advertisement to tempt their perspective customers. Most of them offer coaching for IIT Entrance Examinations and CBSE Medical Tests. They charge ahefty amount from students.Actually, most of these so called ‘coaching centres’ aree nothing morethan ‘teaching shops’.Their only aim is to mint money. They floourish on the mad obessionof students and their parents. Going for coaching may be necessary for some students. After all, preparations for IIT and CPMT require intensive as well as extensive studies.Unfortunately, even the exceptionally brilliant students also subscribe to such kind of coaching. It kills their drive, initiative and originality. Most Of these coaching centres provide just ‘spoon-feeding’ for average students. They are of little use to the reality intelligent and brilliant students.

These are some of the questions which every student and their parents face. The craze for coaching has led to opening of coaching centre in every bylane of Delhi selling dreams of guaranteed success. One can see the newspapers, magazines or roads filled with advertisements like you can ‘learn English in 30 days’ or ‘score 90% in Boards with our guidence’ or ‘clear PMT/IIT with our two year package’. More and more students are flocking these centers as an alternative or supplement to school teaching. Many experts believe that education is a natural process of learning. For the regular and attentive students coaching is not really required till class twelth.

The coaching classes also help students prepare for interviews and face group discussions. For those who cannot attend regular classes, correspondence coaching is helpful. They are relatively cheaper also as they charge one fifth of the regular courses. The students can benefit from the study material and model papers that are sent to them regularly. There are a number of factors that need to be taken into consideration before selecting a coaching centre. The quality, experience and expertise of the teachers should be the top priority. One should also talk to other students before taking admission. The standard of coaching can best be analyzed by the success rate and academic performance of the students studying there. Whether to join a coaching or not is an individual’s decision. If a student is sincere and hardworking with good grasping power he or she can prepare for competitive exams even at home. But if professional help is required then select the coaching centre which offers the best options.

Dr. Kemp is a young brilliant scientist living in port burdock. He had been Griffin senior at University College. But like Griffin, he is not at unscrupulous. He does not use his scientific knowledge to jeopardise the peace of humanity. He is disciplined and law abiding citizen. He loves to remain idealistic and non interfering. He is cool and methodical. His scientific outlook does not let him believe in the existence of invisible man. He is composed and practical. When Griffin comes to his house and asks for his help, Kemp being his former acquaintance helps him. He not only gives him food but also give place to take rest.
Dr Kemp was also a scientist who lived in Burdock. Actually, they both had gone to the same college. He was a tall and slender young man with flaxen hair and a moustache almost white. He was ambitious which was clear from the fact that he wanted recognition of his achievements. But then he was also a speculative philosopher. The night that Griffin came to his house Dr Kemp was working on a remote speculation of social conditions of the future. Kemp is referred to as “the doctor,” but his degree seems to be an academic one rather than a medical one. He continues his own study in hopes of being admitted to “The Royal Fellows”. His own experiments and fascination with science enable him to listen sensibly to Griffin, but in spite of being rather contemptuous of his fellow citizens, his common sense and decency prevent him from being a part of Griffin’s schemes.

Griffin is the protagonist of the novel ‘The Invisible Man’ written by ‘H.G.Wells‘. He is represented as an albino, a prodigy, a meritorious student but an extremely short-tempered man in this novel. He is also shown as a model of science without humanity who is least bothered about people and their sentiments. Starting from his arrival at Iping and till the end at Burdock, he creates havoc wherever he goes. Besides, his bizarre appearance and strange behaviour make the people of Iping more scared and suspicious of him. He often loses his cool while dealing with the people therefore, he has to frequently change his plans. Out of his anger, he burns his landlord’s house at the Great Portland Street and devastates life all around. In fact, he becomes responsible for his father’s suicide. His arrogance and obstinacy lead him to death in the end. His desire of being visible remains an unfulfilled desire till the end of his life. His attraction to Physics prove to be turning point in his life but his wrong intentions ruin not only in his family but also his life. He has to end up in smoke in the end as ever evil does
