Thomas Marvel was a large man of flexible visage, he had a nose of cylindrical protrusion, a liquorish, ample, fluctuating mouth and a bristly beard. His figure was well-rounded, his short limbs accentuated this propensity towards a rotund figure. He wore a furry silk hat and the frequent substitution of twine and shoe-laces for buttons, apparent at critical points of his costume, which made him out to be a bachelor. It is at that juncture when he was sitting by himself and contemplating upon the poor condition of his shoes that he encountered the Invisible Man as the Voice who succeeded in bullying him into becoming his reluctant accomplice. Marvel was distraught and harried from his time with the Invisible Man, he wanted to be let out and that is why he offered his resignation. The Invisible Man wanted to use him as a tool because there were a lot of things that he needed to do which he couldn't due to his condition. Marvel however was not willing to be made a tool and he decided to snivel and grovel his way out of his predicament. He said he would be the worst possible tool, his heart was weak and he was most likely to mess up the Invisible Man's plan out of sheer funk and misery. Marvel had by this time realized the dangerous predicament he had unwittingly got himself into because the Invisible Man seemed like a man possessed in his work. Marvel began to rant against him saying that he wished he was dead, that it was devilish hard and unendurable but to no avail, all his entreaties were ineffectual and fell on deaf ears. The Invisible Man was bent upon making use of him and threatened to twist his wrist if Marvel did not pipe down. It could much worse if Marvel played up and then he would have to deal with the wrath of the Invisible Man. So, Marvel's attempt towards offering his resignation was unsuccessful because the Invisible Man succeeded in bullying and threatening him into submission. However, Marvel became the chink in the armour so to speak for the Invisible Man, he held the key to the three manuscript books which would help perpetuate the state of invisibility for the Invisible Man. If he hadn't turned on him and given himself up to the police, the Invisible Man would not have been apprehended in his demonic task of unleashing a reign of terror. Eventually, Thomas Marvel became the landlord of a little inn near Port Stowe, a short and corpulent little man with a nose of cylindrical proportions, wiry hair and a sporadic rosiness of visage who retained his ill-begotten ownership over the Invisible Man's prized possessions.

Saheb gets some job at a tea stall. There the owner pays him Rs. 800/- and all his meals. The narrator now finds him with
a tin canister on his way to the milkbooth. But he has lost his carefree look. The canister seems heavier than the plastic
bag he would carry so lightly on his shoulder. This was his own bag but the canister belongs to his master. Thus Saheb
was no longer his own master.

A notice has three parts – head, body and authority /contact person.
1) The Head is the eye catcher. It talks about the main topic or the issue of the notice.
Example: a) Notice – Dance competition
- b) Notice – Annual magazine of school
- c) Notice – Sports competition
2) Body includes all the details of the event.
3) Authority /contact person à Name or/ and signature of notice issuing authority needs to be included in the end. If the notice involves meeting someone to submit the name, paper or other things, do not forget to mention the contact person name, meeting place, and time and phone number. Contact person is crucial as he/she is needed for further clarification and information.
Sample :
You are Supriya / Suraj of DAV Public School, Nerul. As the Student Coordinator of the Green Drive initiated by your School to mark the occasion of the World Wildlife Day on 3rd March, draft a notice urging the students to preserve the forests and wildlife.

Griffin was
the lead character in the novel. He was an albino. Though he had many great
qualities, yet he had many flaws in his character. Griffin was a man who had no
conscience, was callous towards other people and simply self-centered. He
appeared to be at war with the entire mankind. All his actions stemmed from his
desire to save himself, with not a thought of care and sympathy for others. He
did many mean acts in the novel. When he was short of money he continued his
experiments, without any thoughts of the consequences, he robed his own father,
who committed suicide because the money was not his. He attended his father’s
funeral without feeling sorry for his own act; instead he blamed his father for
being a sentimental fool. He experimented on a cat, with no concern for the
poor creature’s cries of pain. He threw it out and never tried to find whether
it was alive or dead. He burnt down the house at Great Portland Street when the
landlord and his sons found about his experiments and were horrified. He was
only worried about covering his trail.
Even after
becoming invisible he committed one brutal act after another, not because they
were necessary for his survival, but simply because he enjoyed doing them. The
way he looted his owner of a small costume shop, and left after striking the
old man on his head, spoke volumes about his inhumanity. He terrorized Marvel
when he was on the run, fought with the policemen. His plan to spread reign of
terror among people using his powers of invisibility really shocked Dr. Kemp.
He even tried to kill him for betraying him. In his final run from the people
hunting him, he killed an old man with a rod because he bumped into him.

Save Girl Child
God has made all things bright and beautiful girls included.
Girls are an integral part of life. Imagine the world without girls! No
God-like mothers at homes! No caring sisters to share our sorrows and double
our joys! No wives for man forcing him to live a bachelor’s life eternally with
all the responsibilities of household chores on him! The truth is man’s life
would be eternally monotonous and monochromatic without girls. The practical
and scientific fact is man’s existence is impossible without GIRLS.
Now the question arises: ‘When GIRLS are so important for
life why are they being subjected to female-foeticide, molestation,
gender-discrimination and bias? The answer will shock you! This injustice
against the girls is nothing but atrocities of male chauvinistic society
bringing forth its backwardness and ignorance. How savagely and outrageously
shocking is this ill-treatment of the fair ***! In some of the states of India
such as Punjab and Haryana this heinous crime against the GIRL child has gone
beyond limits. The average *** ratio in India is 933. Haryana is the state with
lowest *** ratio of 861.
Though the Indian Government has passed many laws to safeguard GIRL children, yet the crimes against them have not ended completely. Though there is a sea change in people’s attitude towards GIRL children, still the Government along with people and NGOs need to do more in promoting GIRL children’s interest and causes. The Government must not hesitate in passing and implementing more stringent laws to save GIRL children. And the people must take more proactive part in safeguarding this pillar of love, affection, and creation.
