t the birth of the Tiger King, the astrologers predicted that the Crown Prince was born in the hour of the Bull. Since the Bull and the Tiger are both core enemies, the King would be certainly killed by a tiger.
When the king came of the age, he took over the charge in his hands. The prediction was also heard by his ears. He killed a tiger and sent for the astrologer who in turn advocated that the killing of one tiger was not enough. It did not mean that the King was safe. He might kill ninety-nine tigers in this way but there is dire need of caution while killing the hundredth one. Consequently, the King decided to kill one hundred tigers. In ten years he killed all the seventy tigers of his forests. Thus the forests became extinct of the tigers.
Even he married a princess whose father had a lot of tigers in his forest. Therefore, he killed all the tigers there and their number came to be ninety-nine. The King was much perturbed for the hundredth tiger. His dewan somehow arranged for the hundredth tiger. The king shot at it and it collapsed but did not die. The king did not know the reality. Thinking himself safe, he was happy and brought a wooden tiger as the birthday present for his son. It had tiny sliver on its surface. One such sliver pierced his hand but was pulled out. Still the infection spread in his complete hand and he died. In this way the hundredth tiger was the wooden one that killed the king. Thus the prediction proved to be true.

Dr. Sadao’s dilemma was: ‘should he save the American POW or not?’ America and Japan at that time were engaged in war. If he helped an American (that too an American soldier), he could be charged with treason. If he would not save the injured POW, he would dishonor Hippocratic pledge. Finally he decided to honor his pledge.
Undoubtedly, his final solution under the given circumstances was the best. We can’t say he was treacherous to the country. He did inform General Takima about the presence of the POW at his home. It was the General who omitted to take the necessary action. Sadao did the best by sending the POW to the island from where he escaped.
In conclusion we can say that Dr. Sadao neither betrayed his loyalty to his profession, nor to his country.

At the church, Edla Willmanssan learnt that one of the old crofters of the ironworks had been robbed by a man selling rattraps. That was the fellow she had left into her house. Her father thought of the silver spoons left if any in the cupboard. When they returned, their valet informed that the fellow had gone and had taken nothing at all with him. It was a great relief for both the ironmaster and his daughter.
Moreover, the stranger had left a little package for Miss Willmansson as a Christmas gift.
She gave a little cry of joy while opening the gift package and found a small rattrap, three wrinkled ten kronor notes to be handed over to the crofter. The letter praised Edla for her kindness and hospitality at the Christmas Eve. The young girl Edla was happy to receive a reward of her goodness shown to the poor peddler.

In the short story 'The Last Lesson' by Alphonse Daudet, some elderly people were occupying the back benches on the day of the last lesson as they were attending the French class as a mark of respect for their native language. They wanted to thank the French teacher, M. Hamel, for his significant contribution in teaching their mother tongue to their children for more than forty years.
