Gandhi say the battle of champaran is won because the movement of nill farmer had stopped. Gandhi was ready to go to jail fighting against the injustice to the sharecroppers. Many prominent lawyers had come from all over Bihar to advise and help him. At first, they said they would go back if Gandhi went to prison. Later, they had consultations. They told Gandhi they were ready to follow him into jail. This support made Gandhi extremely happy and confident. This confidence led him to exclaim that the battle of Champaran was won.

The Skunk’s mother’s role is that of a loving mother who tries to teach her son to be confident and proud of how he is. The typical smell of the skunk repelled his friends and the young skunk therefore, wanted to get rid of it. But his mother did not approve of it and told him to change it back. Her role further establishes the value of taking pride in oneself and not change according to people’s opinion.

The writer says that 'little has moved with time in Firozabad' to make the readers have an idea about the progress speed of the place. When the world is growing and changing with time, Firozabad had not witnessed any change with it. The children living here are still illegally being employed in the industries where the temperature is very high. The people here still live in worse condition with suffocation and no light. Still, the moneylenders, the middlemen, and the police exploit the people.
