Yes because for the poor of india survival is far more imp than freedom n legal justice n i dont yhink that the poor of india are free from fear after independence bcz foreign rulers are replaced by the corrupt politicians and self serving bureaucracy.power brokers and moneylenders are still the object of terror for the poor of India.this situation has improved in cities n towns for poor but the poor in remote villages are still suffering from the terror of fear.

The last lesson is a story by Alphonse Daudet where we see that an order has come from Berlin that only German will be taught in the schools of Alsace and Lorraine.M. The actors found the make up experience as a torture because the lights inside the make up room were incandescent i.e. they used to emit heat which used to make the room conditions very intolerable plus there were many lights inside the room (like a salon) which used to worsen the condition, hence compared as a torture.
