Logistic growth is when growth rate decreases as the population reaches carrying capacity. Carrying capacity can be defined as maximum number of individuals in a population that can be supported by the environment. When a population's number reaches the carrying capacity, population growth slows down or stops altogether. While the logistic growth model is often more descriptive of what occurs in reality than the exponential growth model, it still doesn't accurately describe what usually occurs in real life.

  • Plants like ferns, moss, fungi reproduce by this method.
  • Spores are unicellular reproductive bodies present in sac called sporangia.
  • When spores mature sporangia burst and spores are carried to different location by air, wind, water.
  • When spores fall on a suitable ground, they germinate and develop new individuals.

Distillation is the simple process of heating a liquid to form vapours and then cooling the vapours to get back the liquid. It is done to produce certain alcoholic drinks to increase their alcoholic content. The type of alcohol in the alcoholic drinks we drink is a chemical called ethanol. To make alcohol, you need to put grains, fruits or vegetables through a process called fermentation (when yeast or bacteria react with the sugars in food - the by-products are ethanol and carbon dioxide).

A greenhouse stays warm inside, even during the winter. In the daytime, sunlight shines into the greenhouse and warms the plants and air inside. At nighttime, it's colder outside, but the greenhouse stays pretty warm inside. That's because the glass walls of the greenhouse trap the Sun's heat.

The industrial wastes includes organic matter, inorganics (sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, copper, lead, nickel, and zinc), pathogens, and nutrients (most notably nitrogen and phosphorus). The treated wastewater can then be safely discharged into water bodies, applied to land, or even reused in plant operations.

To assist in the removal of these colloidal particles from suspension (dispersion), chemical coagulation and flocculation are required. Chemicals are mixed with the wastewater streams to promote the aggregation of the suspended solids into particles of sufficient size to settle or be removed.

Tapetal cells are very large cells with more than one nucleus. They assist with pollen grain growth and development. Tapetal cells undergo endomitosis where the nucleus in the nuclear membrane splits, but cytokinesis does not happen. They become bi / multi nucleate because of this. Usually the cells are larger and have more than one nucleus per cell. The nuclei of tapetal cells also split as the sporogenous cells undergo mitosis. Sometimes, this mitosis is not normal due to which many cells of mature tapetum become multinucleate. It is also possible to see polyploidy and polyteny at times.
