In bt(Bacillus thuringiensis) bacteria the bt gene occur that is known as cry gene and it code for cry protein . When this protein enter in alkaline medium it become toxic. So this gene is isolated and transferred in cotton plant.there is no harm to cotton plant because there is no alkaline medium is present.when larva of pest feed on plant the cry protein which is translated by cry gene enter in the body of pest where the alkaline medium is present this protein become toxic and pest died

Outcrossing refers to a cross between individuals of same breed of a species that are not closely related, which means they have no common ancestors up to 4–6 generations.

Cross breeding on the other hand is breeding between two individuals of different species. It helps to combine desirable qualities of two different breeds.
