Yellow bone marrow can be found in the hollow interior of long bones such as the legs and arms. It is made up of fat cells that have an important function in the body. It serves as the body’s natural energy and blood reserve. If the body is subjected to extreme hunger, the yellow bone marrow will provide it with the energy it needs in order to survive. In case of extreme blood loss, the yellow bone marrow can convert itself into red bone marrow.

HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) is a virus that attacks the immune system, the body's natural defense system. Without a strong immune system, the body has trouble fighting off disease. Both the virus and the infection it causes are called HIV.
White blood cells are an important part of the immune system. HIV infects and destroys certain white blood cells called CD4+ cells. If too many CD4+ cells are destroyed, the body can no longer defend itself against infection. The last stage of HIV infection is AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome)

Genetics is the study of heredity. Heredity is a biological process where a parent passes certain genes onto their children or offspring. Every child inherits genes from both of their biological parents and these genes in turn express specific traits.
Trait inheritance and molecular inheritance mechanisms of genes are still primary principles of genetics in the 21st century, but modern genetics has expanded beyond inheritance to studying the function and behavior of genes.
