Two different categories of microbes naturally occurring in sewage water are aerobic and anaerobic microbes.

(i) Role of aerobic microbes in cleaning water Aerobic microbes grow excessively in the aeration tank and it consumes a major part of the organic matter. It helps in reducing the BOD of the effluent.

(ii) Role of anaerobic microbes in cleaning water In the settling-tank, anaerobic microbes digest the aerobic bacteria and fungi and produce gases like CH4CH4, C02C02, H2SH2S, etc. It makes the water less polluted to be released in the water bodies.

An antibody (Ab)(immunoglobulin (Ig))is a large, Y-shaped protein produced mainly by plasma cells that is used by the immune system to neutralize pathogens such as pathogenic bacteria and viruses. The antibody recognizes a unique molecule of the pathogen, called an antigen, via the Fab's variable region.

Each tip of the "Y" of an antibody contains a paratope (analogous to a lock) that is specific for one particular epitope (similarly analogous to a key) on an antigen, allowing these two structures to bind together with precision.
