Hiii joining together of DNA molecules from two different species that are inserted into a host organism to produce new genetic combinations that are of value to science, medicine, agriculture, and industry. Since the focus of all genetics is the gene, the fundamental goal of laboratory geneticists is to isolate, characterize, and manipulate genes. Although it is relatively easy to isolate a sample of DNA from a collection of cells, finding a specific gene within this DNA sample can be compared to finding a needle in a haystack. Consider the fact that each human cell contains approximately 2 metres (6 feet) of DNA. Therefore, a small tissue sample will contain many kilometres of DNA. However, recombinant DNA technology has made it possible to isolate one gene or any other segment of DNA, enabling researchers to determine its nucleotide sequence, study its transcripts, mutate it in highly specific ways, and reinsert the modified sequence into a living organism.

Recombinant DNA is transferred into competent host.. Thus changing its phenotype... Which is then used for biotechnological purposes.... Basically transferring means introducing r DNA into host genome using cloning vector (plasmid)

DNA profiling (also called DNA fingerprinting) is the process of determining an individual's DNA characteristics, which are as unique as fingerprints. DNA analysis intended to identify a species, rather than an individual, is called DNA barcoding.

Sticky ends are the overhanging strech of DNA as a result of cutting the two strands of double helix by the restriction enzyme. They are called sticky ends because of the property to form hydrogen bond with their complementry counter parts.

This is because it contains all the qualities of a genetic material i.e it is chemically more stable than the RNA because of it's double stranded structure where as RNA is not stable and RNA also acts as a catalyst . So RNA is more vulnerable towards mutations so RNA can't be termed as a good genetic material

Harshvardhan Sharma 7 years, 1 month ago

Dna is double strand and it tooks some bonds and bases. the codes are unique which conduct the information in it double strands.which cannot be uncoiled without any enzyme..

Krishna Garg 7 years, 1 month ago

Because dna is a double stranded and structurally more stable than rna molecule because of this reason dna molecule is considered as a better hereditary material than rna molecule.

Endonuclease enzyme is the enzyme which breaks the phosphodiester bond present anywhere inside the DNA molecule; while restriction endonuclease enzymes are the enzymes which breaks the nucleotide sequences at specific location only. Restriction endonucleases cut at specific nucleotide sequences known as restriction sites.

Decomposition is largely an oxygen-requiring process. If we want to understand #Decomposition cycle(DC)# then take a example.DC in terrestrial ecosystem A tree grows in the soil - A tree leaf falls to the ground and some are eaten by insects and other animals. Nutrients and energy enter food web / some nutrients leach in to soil by chemical action - #Organic rich soil # Or leaves partially consumed by decomposers such as Fungi and bacteria. They begin to lose form and become LITTER. -Further decomposition by earthworms ,bacteria, mites,Fungi, etc. #Organic rich soil # A tree grows in the soil and so on this cycle is known as DECOMPOSITION CYCLE.
