बफर समाधान एक पानी विलायक आधारित समाधान है जिसमें एक कमजोर एसिड और कमजोर एसिड के संयुग्म आधार, या एक कमजोर आधार और कमजोर आधार के संयुग्मित एसिड युक्त मिश्रण होता है। वे कमजोर पड़ने पर या उनमें थोड़ी मात्रा में एसिड/क्षार मिलाने पर पीएच में बदलाव का विरोध करते हैं।
