See, traditional notion for security basically asks question security for who, and and is security for the nation, because traditionally when world was engaged in world wars ,security only meant protecting the nation by building military. But in this post war era, the term security broadened because a nation will well build army need not always ensure security of its citizens.this is when none traditional notion came in, when question asked security for whom, ans is for humans, for life. So what were the threats they were poverty ,internal conflict, terrorism and so on, so in short non traditional notion of security is a broader term for security that has revolutionised its tradional meaning and means security for humans from treats like poverty...
