The two ladies have a stark contrast between them. Mrs. Pearson is a pleasant but worried looking woman in her forties. She speaks in a light, flurried sort of tone with a touch of sub urban cockney. Mrs. Fitzgerald is older, heavier and has a strong and bold personality. She has a deep voice, rather Irish tone.

When the narrator spotted Mourad with the beautiful white horse, he wondered that how did Mourad get it. They were too poor to afford a horse. Then, the only way that Mourad could get it was, by stealing. Aram was surprised by this very conclusion he reached. However, since both the boys were fervent about horses, aram convinced himself by saying that it won't be called stealing unless they decided to sell the horse, which they will never do. For him, stealing was only confined to money. Thus, aram let go of his thoughts and joined Mourad.

In the Chinese view, art is a representation of the mind or the spirit, whereas in the European view, it is of the figure or the body. While Chinese paintings reveal the inner world, the European paintings lay emphasis on a true representation of the physical appearance of the subject

Nishtha ?? 4 years, 10 months ago

A Chinese painting can clearly be differentiated from a European one. In the former, the focus is the essence of inner life and spirit. Chinese painters may use a real landscape to convey a different message. A Chinese painter wants the viewers to enter his mind and then enter the landscape and travel in it in a leisurely movement. In European paintings, perfect illusionistic likeness is the focus. The painters replicate the whole landscape they see, so that it looks like a real one. Moreover, a European painter wants the viewers to enter his mind and view his painting from a specific angle, just as he saw it.

This statement holds true you in the story ' The Summer of the Beautiful White Horse'. The two boys had the horse with them when they were spotted by the farmer John Byro. The farmer at once understood that it was his horse, but since he knew that the boys belong to a tribe famous for its honesty and loyalty, he denied the fact that the boys were riding his horse. Instead, he took it to be the twin of his own horse. Thus, the author makes the above statement.
