Harsh Mishra 7 years ago

It's so Simple, Miss Anuradha!!!!!! It's natural that a student is ? worrying about his remove from his form . But!!!!! In case of Mr. Crocker Harris, It becomes more scary ? , Because!!!!! when Taplow gently asked from his teacher Mr. Crocker Harris that if he'd given him his remove. So !!!! He in a sarcasm way said that I have given You whatever you Deserve. Not very much, not very less ? ? ?. So!!!! This is the reason that why Taplow was worried about his Remove!!!!!!! ?????

Ankit Singh 7 years ago

Taplow is worried about his remove because only after getting it he can be promoted to the next class. Mr Crocker Harris replied "dear Taplow I have given you exactly what you deserve no less no more than that".to the Taplow.

Active voice - ram killed Raven
In this the subject is at first followed by verb and an object right?
Passive voice - Raven was killed by ram
In this the subject and object replace each other the first will be the object or anything that we talk about and the verb and the subject or doer of an action
Eg: Stephanie gave a pen to raju - active voice
Raju was given a pen by Stephanie - passive voice

In passive the subject is passive or not active. Hençe in passive the verb is governed by the object not the subject.

Ayushi Ayushi 7 years ago

One of the two “voices” of verbs ( see also active voice). A verb is in the passive voice when the subject of the sentence is acted on by the verb. For example, in “The ball was thrown by the pitcher,” the ball (the subject) receives the action of the verb, and was thrown is in the passive voice.

One of the two “voices” of verbs ( see also passive voice). When the verb of a sentence is in the active voice, the subject is doing the acting, as in the sentence “Kevin hit the ball.” Kevin (the subject of the sentence) acts in relation to the ball.

In this play ,Priestley tries to depict the fate of most housewives. The poor housewife has to work all hours of the day and all days of the week. She works hard to keep her husband and children happy. But the husband and children are almost always thoughtless .They have no regard for the feelings of the poor mother. They treat her as a servant. Alter their work , they go out to spend their evening with friends . The poor mother has to stay at home and keep working. Her husband and children never think that she, too, is a human being. They never realise that she, too, need some rest and entertainment. Such husband and children need to correct themselves .

Taplow is a boy of sixteen who is extremely
interested in science. He does not like learning Greek and Latin. He is a good
mimic as he imitates Croker Harris’s voice and style very well. He is a very
good judge of good qualities. Though Crocker Harris is very strict, yet Taplow
has high regard for him. He does not consider him a sadist. He admires Crocker
Harris. He does not want to make Crocker Harris angry by displeasing him in any
manner. When Frank suggests him that he could play and come back as there are
very bleak chances of Crocker Harris’s coming, he refuses to do so.

About the Character Mrs. Pearson in the Chapter of Snapshot "Mother's Day" :-------Andrew Crocker-Harris, a schoolmaster in an English public school. He is a failure both in his teaching of the classics and in his marriage. “The Crock,” as he is dubbed by his pupils, is retiring for health reasons, one year short of qualifying for a pension. He assumes that because there is precedent, he will be granted a pension. With a reputation for giving students grades that are neither more nor less than they deserve, he seems an anachronism in a time when younger masters curry favor W students. Emotionally repressed, he gives no outward sign of his knowledge of his wife’s infidelities, the latest involving Frank Hunter, a popular and younger master.?????

Doris Doris Pearson is the daughter of Mrs. Pearson. She is a pretty girl in her early twenties. She looks pleasant but she is a 'spoilt' child. She makes her mother run after her all the time. She gives order to her as if Mrs. Pearson were the servant in the house. She asks her mother to iron her yellow silk. She expects tea to be served to her. She always thinks of her and her boy-friend, Charlie.
