    Shanshui literally means mountain water. Used together, mountain and water represent the word landscape. Instead of representing two elements of an image they represent two complementary poles. The mountain is the YANG which reaches the heaven vertically ,stable,warm and dry in the sun. The water on the other hand is YIN horizontally and resting on the earth , fluid,moist , and cool. The concept of Shanshui is close to the Daoist concept of universal creation which is an outcome of the interaction between YIN the feminine aspect of the universal energy and YANG its active and masculine conter path.

    Chinese view of art does not aim at reproducing an actual view where western aim at creating illusion of reality. Chinese painter does not want to borrow his eye to see the panting but European painter wants to borrow his eyes. Chinese painter do not choose a single view point but European painter have single view point.

    Andrew Manson was a young doctor. He was a dedicated and hard working medical practitioner. He never failed in his calling. He was full of ideas. He judged every case on its merit. He showed quite a mature understanding of his patients. He never faltered or hesitated. When torn between two conflicts, he wasted no time in taking the right and prompt decision.
    We find Andrew Manson a clear headed person. He could resolve any issue. He didn't hesitate even to do any experiment. Plunging the child into the icy and hot waters turn by turn was a daring experiment.Similarly, rubbing and releasing the chest with a rough towel was another experiment. It, finally brought success to the doctor. In the end, Andrew was satisfied that he did everything whatever had been expected of him.
