Today, Berlin is undoubtedly considered to be the capital of Germany and one of Europe's major capitals. However, throughout history, its status has been subject to many upheavals. The city of Berlin was successively the capital of the Kingdom of Prussia, the Wilhelminian Empire, the Weimar Republic and then the National Socialist regime, before being divided in two by the infamous "Iron Curtain" for 40 years. It was only after the fall of the Berlin Wall and a very tense vote in the Bundestag that Berlin once again became the capital of Germany on 3 October 1990.

The odd way in which he grandmother behaved before she died was that the evening the narrator returned for abroad, she didn't pray. Instead, she collected women of the neighborhood and sang of the homecoming of warriors while thumping a sagging, dilapidated drum for hours. It was the first time in years that she did not pray.

Uncle Khosrove is explained to be a very impatient man. This worked to his disadvantage one day when he was getting his hair trimmed by a barber and he came to know that his house was on fire. He had an amazing reaction when he said: "It is no harm, pay no attention to it. Enough, it is no harm, I say." He paid no heed to anything serious or trivial.

The statement holds true in the light of the story ‘We’re Not Afraid to Die…….’. The narrator along with his wife, children, and two crewmen overcame the worst situations and defeated death by fighting the adverse situations which cropped up during their voyage. When the big wave hit the boat, it was severely damaged and the narrator was badly injured. However, he did not pay attention to it and held on to the wheel. Both Larry and Herb kept pumping out water and did not stop.
Moreover, when the handpumps stopped working and the electric pump short-circuited, he did not lose confidence and used electric pump to drive out water from the boat. Even the children had confidence in their father and they hoped to survive. They also : showed great courage. Jon said that they were not afraid to die if they are all together. Sue made a card to thank her parents. It was a great example of unity and trust that they had on each other,
Thus, it can be concluded that by staying optimistic like the children and making the best use of your potential like the narrator, one can fight adversities and be a winner.
