Limiting reagents are the substances that are completely consumed in the completion of a chemical reaction. They are also referred to as limiting agents or limiting reactants. According to the stoichiometry of chemical reactions, a fixed amount of reactants is required for the completion of the reaction. Let us consider the following reaction of formation of ammonia:

3H2 + N2 → 2NH3

moles of water in mixture=12/18=2/3 moles of acetic acid in mixture = 108/60 = 18/10 moles of ethanol in mixture= 92/46 = 2 mole fraction of water = (2/3)/(2/3+1.8+2) = (2/3)/[(2+5.4+6)/3] =2/13.4=20/134 = 10/67 therefore 10/67 is the mole fraction of water in mixture.

Given
P₁ = 760 mm
V₁ = 600 ml
T₁ = 25° C = 273 + 25 = 298 K
T₂ = 10° C = 273 + 10 = 283 K
V₂ = 640 ml
P₂ = ?
Using Combined Law of Gas,
P₁V₁/T₁ = P₂V₂/T₂
760 x 600/298 = P₂ x 640 / 283
P₂ = 760 x 600 x 283 / 298 x 640
P₂ = 676.6 mm
So the required pressure is 676.6 mm of Hg
