Empirical formula of chemical compound shows the simplest positive integer ratio of atoms of each element present in compound. Molecular formula of compound also known as chemical formula is the way of expressing the amount atom that each element has in that particular compound.

Empirical formula is the simplest formula for a compound .A molecular formula is same as or a multiple of empirical formula and is based on actual number of atoms of each type in the compound.
