The s-block elements share electron configurations. s-block elements are the elements found in Group 1 and Group 2 on the periodic table. ... Group 2 is the alkali earth metals which have two valence electrons, filling their s sub level. Because they have 2 valence electrons they are less reactive than group 1.The s-block elements include hydrogen (H), helium (He), lithium (Li), beryllium (Be), sodium (Na), magnesium (Mg), potassium (K), calcium (Ca), rubidium (Rb), strontium (Sr), cesium (Cs), barium (Ba), francium (Fr) and radium (Ra). The periodic table shows exactly where these elements are within the s-block.
