Only a great idealist who work not for money but for satisfaction of his artistic soul can do such a thing. Patil Babu values artistic satisfaction far above then non-etary consideration. Nicola and Jacopo in the chapter are two little boys who work all the day for their livelihood and to earn money for the treatment of their sister. They used to do many odd jobs like selling wild strawberries, polishing shoes, selling newspapers till midnight etc it shows that they were very hardworking and didnt choose begging to earn money. The entry of the author in the lives of the boys was no less than any blessing and the author seems to be a gift from god to them he not only helped them earning money (by buying strawberries from them,by making their tourist guide etc.) but also dropped them to their sisters hospital which was far away this is very uncommon for a tourist and can only be done by a pure soul. Hope it helped!!

Dr. Graham Bell was a famous American innovator. He was a remarkable person and had always been very kind and helpful to Helen and Miss Sullivan. It was he who introduced Mr. Anagnos to her parents, and Miss Sullivan who came to teach her at her home. Whenever Helen was in difficulty, Dr. Bell extended a helping hand to her.
He showed and explained many of his experiments to Helen. Helen felt indebted to him and acknowledged her indebtedness to him, quoting that he brought her from darkness
to light, from isolation to friendship, knowledge and love.

Helen visited the World Fair with him; and he told her how autophones and other
inventions made communication easier in the world. He described each object in
the electrical world to her with utmost interest. Helen spent many days in his laboratory listening to his experiments. These experiences matured Helen and she felt that she had taken a great leap from the world of fairy tales to the
real practical world.

Besides being caring and kind, he was humorous and poetic also. He was very fond of
children. He did a lot to improve the life of the disabled. Dr. Bell remained as a sustaining influence in Helen’s life. In spite of being a great man of high status, he was very modest, noble and sympathetic.

Helen had written a little story called ‘The Frost King’ which she had sent to Mr. Anagnos of the Perkins Institution for the Blind. The latter was delighted with it and published the story in one of the institutional reports. However, it was discovered that a story similar to her ‘The Frost King’ called ‘The Frost Fairies’ by Miss. Margaret T. Canby had appeared before Helen was born in a book called ‘Birdie and His Friends.’ The two stories were so much alike in thought and language that it was evident Miss Canby’s story had been read to Helen and that her story was a case of plagiarism. A court of investigation was constituted which consisted of eight people, four blind, four people with vision and votes were cast to arrive at a decision. Mr. Anagnos who had supported Helen initially, changed tack and cast his vote against her. The incident scarred Helen in such a way that for a very long time she could not produce any creative work after this episode. She became excessively scrupulous about everything she wrote and the thought tormented her that what she wrote was not her original work. Miss Sullivan had to console her and allay her fears to in every which way possible in order to restore the confidence that Helen had lost. Eventually, Helen resumed her writing, urged on by her teacher.
