Mr. Anagnos was the director of the Perkins Institution in Boston. He was instrumental in sending Miss Sullivan to Helen’s house to teach her. He had quite a soft corner for Helen. However, differences grew in their relation 1892 with the Frost King episode. The controversy concerning 'The Frost King' was an agonizing experience in Helen's life. Helen was charged with plagiarism. It was said that Helen had copied the theme of her story from 'Frost Fairies', by Miss Margaret T. Cabby. Even Mr. Anagnos, the director of Perkins Institute doubted Helen. Mr. Anagnos's behaviour towards Helen was not justified. In spite of initial sympathy with her and believing her side of the situation, he changed his stance. The night before the celebration of Washington's birthday, one of the teachers of Perkins Institute talked to Helen regarding "The Frost King". Helen told her that Miss Sullivan had narrated her the story about Jack Frost and her wonderful works. Something she said made the teacher think she was confessing that she had copied her plot from Miss Canby's story of 'The Frost Fairies'. She conveyed her conclusions to Mr. Anagnos who thought he had been deceived by Helen. He also began suspecting that Helen and Miss Sullivan had stolen the story.

There is no prescribed format for short fiction, indeed for any fiction. Writing fiction, like writing essays, is free form; you can chose to structure it any way you want.

A good story must have following format or structure:

Title: Should be catchy. Many a times readers try to guess what the story is about through its title.

The Hook ( A good and catchy introduction)The beginning lines are very important because the aim of the story teller is to catch the reader’s attention right from the beginning. It is best to jump right into an action.

The Body or the main part of the story: It should have the following characteristics:-

> Desire: The story teller creates a protagonist(the main character) of his story to achieve a goal.

> Conflict: The events in the story gradually build up towards some difficulty or a crisis or obstacles which the character must face in order to achieve his/her goals.

> Challenge and Obstacles: The protagonist must face obstacles and must face said backs throughout the story before he/she can achieve his/her goals

> Climax: The story must include a turning point where his/her difficulties reach a peak. It may be a situation which creates problems.

Resolution or Conclusion: This is the final part of the story in which the protagonist or the main character is able to resolve his/her problem. Be sure to make your ending logical, believable and memorable. The ending could be both positive or negative.

The frog was angry at the nightingale as her voice was getting sorrowful and morose. Due to this the ticket office was incurring huge losses. The frog sold her songs for silver and ironically asked her to make hrr voice hoarse like him. He exploited her to his own advantage. Birds and beasts were tired of a voice so uninspired. Singing alone gave no joy to her Hope this much is helpful and enough

Puja Sahoo 6 years, 7 months ago

Lavinia, the volatile wife of John Hallock, is a colourful character. She is fun loving and extravagant. John is scared of her fancy shopping. He remembers her craze for taking up new fads. John can’t devote his whole time to writing. He has to work as a book-keeper to earn a living and ‘pay for Lavinia’s fancy’ shopping. One afternoon she buys ‘the loveliest’ and duckliest, darlingest Ouija board at a bargain sale. However, her husband thinks that it is a “foolish thing” to buy. She considers Ouija boards “awfully thrilling” but John considers them “positively devilish.” She is quite excited and interested in the “other world.” She even says that the Ouija board can help him in writing his stories. Through his Ouija board he can talk to Napolean or Helen of Troy. He need not wear his eyes over books.

The rumour about John in the Ouija party upsets Lavinia. The idea of John flirting with Helen on the Ouija board is unbearable. Lavinia doesn’t excuse her husband. The next day she threatens to go back to her grandmother. Once John feels that it was the end of his domestic bliss and peace. She suspects that John is hiding Helen in the room, and flirting with her. Only when she encounters Helen her doubts are laid to rest. The unattractive ‘owl-eyed’ ghost can’t be her rival. She can’t pose any danger to her. In the end, she fell forgivingly in John’s arms. A satisfied smile spreads over her face.

She was completely brainless as she get trapped in frogs words , the frog introduced himself as splendid male singer and she trusted him and again the frog tortured him by singing her in rain and she could escape from there but she remained there and followed frogs advice. By this i think that she is brainless

Harsh Vardhan Singh 6 years, 7 months ago

Nigthingle did lack confidence but we can not call her brainless. There is nothing stupid or foolish in her aspiration to become a popular singer. She was only too much simple and gentle which makes her victim of frogs exploitation.

Anushka Jugran ✌️ 6 years, 7 months ago

I don't think that nightingale is brainless. Although she was so innocent nd simple or packs confidence. Her fault is only to accept the frog's advice which makes her quite foolish..
