Dear Diary
Today, I won the first prize for my Science
model!
A Science Fair was organised in our school
to create interest in the application of science concepts learned by students
in class. Students displayed various models, some of which were working models:
lava erupting from a volcano, batteries lighting up bulbs attached to a board,
solar panels, solar cookers, etc. My model of a robotic arm was highly
appreciated by the judges and I bagged the first prize.
Parents were invited to the Science Fair and were very happy to see the work done by their children. My parents felt proud
when I received the award. An interactive session with scientists from ISRO was also organised and drew a great response. I
wish there were more exhibitions of the same kind in school!

Vocational training is a learning of students about practical things and processes. It is very important for a school to keep these in curriculum to enhance student's talent. now a days, students have been so engrossed in just scoring goood marks that they never think to question things around them. they accept everything as it is and just go with the flow. they are just concerned with rote learning. in such a time, it becomes very important to initiate vocational training to empower student's questioning and reasoning capacity. vocational training also make them aware with the practical application of theories that they learn in class. vocational training is a boon for students who believe in application more than theories. it make them aware about how things around them work. it helps them find answers to their so called 'sillly questions'. thus, its very important to initiate vocational training. to implement this, school shouls give 3 periods for 2 days every week for such training. the criteria like - sports, mechanichs, computer, fashion, diet etc should be given choices for students and they should be given a chance to alter their choices every month. while, for mentoring, professionals and not teachers should be called to train students. such system can truly help our kids to grow in right way!!! so common let us encourage such initiatives and make our kid's future bright!
