Gandhi ji was designed the swaraj flag.
1. it was a tricolour (red, green and white).
2. it had eight lotus representing eight provinces of british india, and a crescent moon representing hindus and muslims.
3. People used to carry the flag holding it aloft during marches.

सन् 1992 में संयुक्त राष्ट्र संघ का पर्यावरण एवं विकास के मुद्दे पर केन्द्रित एक सम्मेलन ब्राजील के रियो डि जेनेरो में हुआ। इस सम्मेलन को पृथ्वी सम्मेलन के नाम से जाना जाता है। [1][2]इसमें 170 देशों के प्रतिनिधियों, हजारों स्वयंसेवी संगठनों और अनेक बहुराष्ट्रीय निगमों ने भाग लिया। इस सम्मेलन में ही विश्व राजनीति में पर्यावरण को एक ठोस स्वरूप मिला। इस अवसर पर एजेण्डा-21 पारित किया गया। सभी राष्ट्रों से निवेदन किया गया कि वह प्राकृतिक संतुलन को बनाए रखें, पर्यावरण के प्रदूषण को रोके तथा सतत विकास का रास्ता अपनाएं।
