धातु जब एसिड के साथ प्रतिक्रिया करते हैं तो साल्ट और हाइड्रोजन गैस का निर्माण होता है।
Metal + Acid ⇨ Salt + Hydrogen
जब नाइट्रिक एसिड किसी मेटल के साथ अभिक्रिया करता है तो हाइड्रोजन गैस नहीं बनती है। ऐसा इसलिये होता है क्योंकि नाइट्रिक ऐसिड एक प्रबल ऑक्सीडाइजिंग एजेंट होता है। यह हाइड्रोजन गैस का ऑक्सीकरण कर देता है जिसके कारण जल बन जाता है। इसके अलावा, नाइट्रिक ऐसिड का अवकरण हो जाता है और इससे नाइट्रोजन का कोई एक ऑक्साइड <i>(N2O, NO, NO2)</i> बन जाता है। लेकिन मैगनीज और मैगनीशियम बहुत ही तनु नाइट्रिक एसिड से अभिक्रिया करके हाइड्रोजन गैस का निर्माण करते हैं।
जब जिंक के दानेदार टुकड़ों के ऊपर तनु सल्फूरिक एसिड को डाला जाता है तो बुलबुले बनते हैं और हाइड्रोजन गैस का निर्माण होता है। इस अभिक्रिया में जिंक सल्फेट बनता है।

Ohm’s Law states that the potential difference between two points is directly proportional to the electric current.
This means; potential difference V varies as electric current.
Or, V∝I
Or, V/I=R ----------(1)
Or, 1/I = R /V
Or, I = V/R ----------(2)
Or, V = RI ----------(3)
Where R is constant for the given conductor at a given temperature and called resistance. Resistance is the property of conductor which resists the flow of electric current through it.

ओम के नियम के अनुसार यदि ताप आदि भौतिक अवस्थायें नियत रखीं जाए तो किसी प्रतिरोधक (या, अन्य ओह्मीय डिवाइस) के सिरों के बीच उत्पन्न विभवान्तरउससे प्रवाहित धारा के समानुपाती होता है।
अर्थात् V ∝ I
या,V = RI
या,R = {tex}\frac{V}{I}{/tex}= Constant
R का एक मात्रक ओम है।
