This is due to Inertia
We fall forward when a bus brakes and fall backward when a bus starts.This phenomena is occurred due to inertia. Inertia is the natural tendency of resisting the change in motion. If a body is at rest then it continues to be at rest and if the body is in motion it continues to be in motion until an external force is applied to it.
