Good animal husbandry practices increases the production of animal products. This inturn increases the profit of farmers.
Also it keeps their animal stocks healthy. Hence, time and effort need not be spent on nursing the sick animals and preventing other animals from falling sick.
Improved animal husbandry practices helps to meet the demands for milk, meat and eggs.
The animal-based farming practices are undertaken by Indian farmers alongwith agriculture as mixed farming. However, the progressive farmers take up one of these practices on commercial basis.
