Kinetic Energy Potential Energy
Kinetic energy is the kind of energy present in a body due to the property of its motion Potential Energy is the type of energy present in a body due to the property of its state
It can be easily transferred from one body to another It is not transferrable
The determining factors for kinetic energy are Speed or velocity and mass Here, the determining factors are Height/ distance and mass
Flowing water is one of the examples for kinetic energy Water present at the top of hill is an example of potential energy
It is relative with respect to nature It is non-relative with respect to nature

Gaurav Kolte 7 years, 4 months ago

A small organ-like structure present inside the cell is called a cell organelle. It has a particular structural makeup and performs a specific function. Depending upon the presence or absence of membrane, cell organelles can be classified into three categories, namely:

  • Without membrane: Some cell organelles like ribosomes are not bounded by any membrane. They are present in prokaryotic as well as eukaryotic organisms.
  • Single membrane-bound: Some organelles are bounded by a single membrane. For example, vacuole, lysosome, Golgi Apparatus, Endoplasmic Reticulum etc. They are present only in a eukaryotic cell.
  • Double membrane-bound: Cell organelles like mitochondria and chloroplast are double membrane-bound organelles. They are present only in a eukaryotic cell.

Kinetic as well as potential

The energy stored in the spring of a watch is potential energy. The spring does not have kinetic energy until it is released and starts to move.
In a watch, the spring is allowed to move in a regulated way. Instead of just accelerating and releasing all the energy at once, there is a mechanism in the watch that smooths out the motion, providing a constant rate of rotation for some amount of time, after which you need to wind the watch spring up again.

The rate of change of velocity is called Acceleration. By this we mean to say that if a body changes its velocity for eg. from 0 m/s to 6m/s in a given interval of 2 seconds , then the rate of change of velocity or the acceleration = v - u ÷ t i.e 6 - 0 ÷ 2 = 3m/s^2
