f = frequency of sound wave = 100 Hz
λ = wavelength of sound wave = 50 cm = 0.50 m
V = speed of sound wave
speed of sound wave is given as
V = f λ
inserting the values
V = 100 x 0.50
V = 50 m/s
D = distance traveled = 500 m
t = time taken by sound wave
time taken by sound wave is given as
t = D/V
inserting the values
t = 50/500
t = 0.1 sec

Work = Change in kinetic energy
= 0.5 m (v² - u²)
= 0.5 × 1500 kg × [(60 × 5/18 m/s)² - (30 × 5/18 m/s)²]
= 156250 joules
= 156.25 kJ
Work done is 156.25 kJ

The falling of a body (or object) from a height towards the earth under the gravitational force of earth (with on other force acting on it) is called free fall
- When an object falls freely towards the earth there happens to be no change in the direction of motion of the object but due to the attraction of earth there will be a change in the magnitude of velocity.
- Change in velocity involves acceleration. So whenever the objects falls towards earth an acceleration is involved due to earth's gravitational force.
- This acceleration due to earth's gravitational force is called acceleration due to gravity which is denoted by 'g' and its unit is m/s2

Mechanical energy is the sum of kinetic energy and potential energy in an object that is used to do a particular work. In other words, it describes the energy of an object because of its motion or position, or both. Potential energy is possessed by the object’s position whereas kinetic energy is possessed by the movement. When an object is moving, its potential energy is zero. When it’s at rest, the kinetic energy is zero.

- Energy can be changed from one form to another.
- The change of energy from one form to another is called as the transformation or conversion of energy.
Examples:
- The electrical energy in an electric bulb is converted into heat and light energy.
- The electrical energy in an electromagnet is converted into magnetic energy.
- A cell or a battery converts chemical energy into electrical energy.
