The solubility of a substance depends on the physical and chemical properties of that substance. In addition to this, there are a few conditions which can manipulate it. Temperature, pressure and the type of bond and forces between the particles are few among them.
- Temperature:
By changing the temperature we can increase the soluble property of a solute. Generally, water dissolves solutes at 20° C or 100° C. Sparingly soluble solid or liquid substances can be dissolved completely by increasing the temperature. But in the case of gaseous substance, temperature inversely influences solubility i.e. as the temperature increases gases expand and escapes from their solvent.
- Forces and Bonds:
Like dissolves in like. The type of intermolecular forces and bonds vary among each molecule. The chances of solubility between two unlike substances are more challengeable than the like substances. For example, water is a polar solvent where a polar solute like ethanol is easily soluble.
- Pressure:
Gaseous substances are much influenced than solids and liquids by pressure. When the partial pressure of gas increases, the chance of its solubility is also increased. A soda bottle is an example of where CO2 is bottled under high pressure.

Let us assume, the final velocity with which ball will strike the ground be ‘v’ and time it takes to strike the ground be ‘t’
Initial Velocity of ball, u =0
Distance or height of fall, s =20 m
Downward acceleration, a =10 m s-2
As we know, 2as =v2-u2
v2 = 2as+ u2
= 2 x 10 x 20 + 0
= 400
= Final velocity of ball, v = 20 ms-1
t = (v-u)/a
´Time taken by the ball to strike = (20-0)/10
= 20/10
= 2 seconds

Solution Sol SuspensionA solution is a homogeneous mixture of two or more substances. A sol is a heterogeneous mixture. Suspension is a heterogeneous mixture.
The particles of a solution are smaller than 1 nm (10-9 metre) in diameter. So, they cannot be seen by naked eyes. The size of particles of a sol is too small to be individually seen by naked eyes. It is between 1 nm and 100 nm in diameter The particles of a suspension can be seen by the naked eye. Their size is larger than 100 nm in diameter.
Due to small particle size, they do not scatter a beam of light passing through them. Thus, the path of light is not visible in a solution. Sols are big enough to scatter a beam of light passing through them and make its path visible. The particles of a suspension scatter a beam of light passing through it and make its path visible.
The solute particles do not settle down when left undisturbed, i.e., a solution is stable. They do not settle down when left undisturbed, i.e., a sol is quite stable. The solute particles settle down when a suspension is left undisturbed, i.e., a suspension is unstable.
The solute particles cannot be separated from the mixture by the process of filtration. The solute particles cannot be separated from the mixture by the process of filtration. They can be separated from the mixture by the process of filtration.

This is just because of Newton’s First Law of Motion which states as below:
Everybody continues in its state of rest or of uniform motion in a straight line unless and until it is compelled by an external force to change that state.
So when the bus or train stopped suddenly, a passenger sits inside tends to fall forward. Because the lower part of the body comes to rest with the bus while the upper part tends to continue its motion due to inertia.

Alloys are metal mixtures with other elements, the precise combination of which is governed by the properties required. In general, alloys are considered metallic in nature, i.e. they have good thermal and electrical conductivity. An alloy is a homogeneous mixture of two or more metals or a metal and a nonmetal.

In living beings the osmosis has the following importance:
1. The osmosis aids in transportation of the nutrients from cell to cell and wastes are removed from the cells.
2. The osmosis prevents the cell from bursting it creates the turgor pressure inside the cell.
3. Through the process of osmosis the roots absorb the moisture and nutrients from the soil.
4. It keeps the toxic waste separated from the blood stream.
5. The process of blood purification in kidneys is also dependent upon osmosis.

If we put an animal cell or a plant cell into a solution of sugar or salt in water then three things could happen:
(i) When eukaryotic cells are placed in hypotonic solutions, the water molecules will enter into the cell and the cell will swell up.
(ii) If eukaryotic cells are placed in hypertonic solutions, the water molecules will come out of the cell and the cell with shrink.
(iii) If the eukaryotic cell is placed in isotonic solution, the amount of water molecule will remain the same; it will neither move out or will go inside. The cell will remain same sized.

Following are the important nucleus function:
- It contains the cell’s hereditary information and controls the cell’s growth and reproduction.
- The nucleus has been clearly explained as a membrane-bound structure that comprises the genetic material of a cell.
- It is not just a storage compartment for DNA but also happens to be the home of some essential cellular processes.
- First and foremost, it is possible to duplicate one’s DNA in the nucleus. This process has been named DNA Replication and creates an identical copy of the DNA.
- Creating two identical copies of the host or body is the first step in cell division, where each new cell will get its own set of instructions.
- Secondly, the nucleus is the spot of transcription. Transcription is the process of creating different types of RNA from DNA. Transcription would be a lot like making copies of individual pages of the human body’s instructions that can then be passed out and read by the rest of the cell.
- The central rule of biology states that DNA is copied into RNA, which is then turned into protein.

Impulse: A large amount of force acting on an object for a short interval of time is called impulse or impulsive force. Numerically impulse is the product of force and time. Impulse of an object is equal to the change in momentum of the object.
Example : When a glass vessel falls from a height on a hard floor, due to the impact of impulse because it comes to rest to break it down in a short span of time so a large force is exerted on it But if it falls on a carpet or sand, the time duration in which the vessel comes to rest, becomes more and the impact of the impulse reduces, so a less force is exerted on the vessel and it does not break.

According to the nature of the movement, motion is classified into three types as follows:
- Linear Motion: In linear motion, the particles move from one point to another in either a straight line or a curved path.
- Rotary Motion: Rotatory motion is the motion that occurs when a body rotates on its own axis.
- Oscillatory Motion: Oscillatory motion is the motion of a body about its mean position.
