Arthropoda

This is the largest group of animals

The bodies of the organisms belonging to this group are bilaterally symmetrical and segmented.

These organisms have an open circulatory system. Therefore the blood does not flow in a well-defined blood vessel.

The coelomic cavity of these organisms is blood-filled.

These organisms have jointed legs.

Examples of organisms belonging to this group are prawns, butterflies,
houseflies, spiders, scorpions and crabs.

The sense of smell is not considered a form of matter. However, the smell or odor of a substance is classified as matter. The smell of any substance (say, perfume) is the gaseous form of that substance which our olfactory system can detect (even at very low concentrations). Gas particles move very quickly (air particles move at 500 m/s on average at room temperature). However, a smell does not travel this fast. This is because its particles collide with each other and with particles of air very frequently.

Mitosis

Meiosis

Each chromosome replicates. The result is two genetically identical sister chromatids Chromosomes not yet visible but DNA has been duplicated or replicated
Prophase I – crossing-over recombination – Homologous chromosomes (each consists of two sister chromatids) appear together as pairs. Tetrad is the structure that is formed. Segments of chromosomes are exchanged between non-sister chromatids at crossover points known as chiasmata (crossing-over) Prophase –Each of the duplicated chromosomes appears as two identical or equal sister chromatids, The mitotic spindle begins to form. Chromosomes condense and thicken
Metaphase I Chromosomes adjust on the metaphase plate. Chromosomes are still intact and arranged as pairs of homologues Metaphase -The chromosomes assemble at the equator at the metaphase plate
Anaphase I Sister chromatids stay intact. However, homologous chromosomes drift to the opposite or reverse poles Anaphase – The spindle fibres begin to contract. This starts to pull the sister chromatids apart. At the end of anaphase, a complete set of daughter chromosomes is found each pole

Total distance ÷Total time

Yogita Ingle 4 years, 3 months ago

The average speed of a body in a certain time interval is the distance covered by the body in that time interval divided by time. So if a particle covers a certain distance s in a time t1 to t2, then the average speed of the body is:

vav = s/(t2–t1)

In general, average speed formula is:

Average Speed = Total Distance/Total Time

Friction is a type of force which resist the object to move. It happens only in two contacted objects.

Meghna Thapar 4 years, 3 months ago

The force of friction acts in a direction opposite to the direction in which an object moves. Place a book on the table and gently push it towards right side. It moves through some distance to the right side and then stops on its own. This means that the force of friction is acting on it in the opposite direction (towards left) which is opposing its motion. Similarly, if we push the book towards left side, it will move towards left side but the force of friction acts towards right side which makes it to stop.

A saturated solution is a solution which can dissolve no more solute. Solute is the thing that you are dissolving (example: table salt) and solvent is the thing you are dissolving the solute on (example: water). However, an unsaturated solution is a chemical solution in which the solute concentration is lower than its equilibrium solubility. In an unsaturated solution, the rate of dissolution is much greater than the rate of crystallization.

Differentiating Property

Velocity

Speed

1

Definition

  • Velocity can be defined as the rate at which an object changes position in a certain direction.
  • The rate at which an object covers a certain distance is known as speed.

2

Type of quantity

  • Vector quantity
  • Scalar quantity

3

Magnitude

  • Velocity can be zero, negative, or positive.
  • Speed can never be negative or zero.

4

Change of direction

  • The velocity of the object changes with the change in direction, therefore the object must follow one direction.
  • The average speed will continue to count even if the object change direction.

5

Interrelation

  • An object may possess different velocities but the same speed.
  • Speed may or may not be equal to velocity.

6

Unit (SI)

  • Velocity is measured in m/s
  • Speed is measured in m/s

colloid is a heterogeneous mixture whose particles are not as small as solution but they are so small that cannot be seen by naked eye. When a beam of light is passed through a colloid then the path of the light becomes visible. For example milk, smoke etc.

Yogita Ingle 4 years, 3 months ago

Colloids

  • A colloid is a kind of solution in which the size of solute particles is intermediate between those in true solutions and those in suspensions.
  • For Example: - Soap solution, Milk, Ink, Blood and solutions of synthetic detergents.

  • supersaturated solution comprises of a large amount of solute at a temperature wherein it will be reduced as a result the extra solute will crystallize quickly.
  • An unsaturated solution is a solution in which a solvent is capable of dissolving any more solute at a given temperature.
  • saturated solution can be defined as a solution in which a solvent is not capable of dissolving any more solute at a given temperature.
  • Aqueous solution – When a solute is dissolved in water the solution is called an aqueous solution. Eg, salt in water, sugar in water and copper sulfate in water.
  • Non-aqueous solution – When a solute is dissolved in a solvent other than water, it is called a non-aqueous solution. Eg, iodine in carbon tetrachloride, sulfur in carbon disulfide, phosphorus in ethyl alcohol.
  • dilute solution contains a small amount of solute in a large amount of solvent.
  • concentrated solution contains a large amount of solute dissolved in a small amount of solvent.

DISADVANTAGES
1.Most of the fishes breed only during monsoon.

2. If all of them lay eggs at the same time, there will be a big problem to distinguish between those eggs.

3. There is a lack of good quality fish seeds available.

To overcome these problems, various ways have been worked out to breed these fish in ponds using hormonal stipulation.

Liquid that full mix or dissolve into each other are miscible liquids .And those liquid that do not fully dissolve into each other are immiscible.

Kanav Dumra 4 years, 3 months ago

Liquids that fully mix or dissolve into each other are miscible liquids ( water and ethanol). And those liquids that don't fully dissolve into each other are immiscible ( oil and water).

Yogita Ingle 4 years, 3 months ago

(1) Miscible Liquid can be easily dissolved in any other liquids, but Immiscible  Liquid do not dissolve in other.

Eg. Water, Ethanol etc. are miscible liquids, while Oil in water is immiscible.

(2) If the liquid is immiscible, you will be able to see a meniscus on the liquid, while for miscible liquids you will not.

given: s= 10m
g= 10m/s2
u will be take 0 because initailly the body will on rest
s= ut+1/2 at2 a= g because of vertical

10= 0(t)+1/2(10) × t2
10= 5t2
2=t2
t= √2
t= 1.41

v= u+at
v= 0+gt
v= 10 × 1.41
v=14.1
v = 14m/s app

Gaurav Seth 4 years, 3 months ago

S=10m
g=10m/s
u=0m/s [ Body Starts From Rest ]
v = ?

v^2 - u^2 = 2gs
v^2 - 0^2 = 2 x 10 x 10
v^2 = 200
v = Root Of 200 (√200)
v = 14.14 ( Approx. )
Speed = 14.14 m/s

v=u+gt
14.14=0+10 x t
14.14=10t
t=14.14/10
t= 1.414 seconds
Time = 1.414 seconds

let initial velocity = u & accleration is a then

distance travelled in 4 sec = S6

using , s=ut + at2/2

 S6 = 4u + a36/2

               =  6u+18a

distance covered in 2 sec = S2 = 2u + 4a/2

                                           =2u+2a = 200           (given)

                                       u+a = 100             ........................1

now distance covered in 2 to 6 sec is given 220cm

      S6-200 = 220

     6u + 18a = 420

        u+3a = 70             .................2

from 1& 2

a = -15 & u=115

velocity after 7 sec = V7

       V7 = u + at

           =115 - 15*7=10cm/sec
