By Z = 3, we mean that the atomic number of the element is 3. Its electronic configuration is 2, 1. Hence, the valency of the element is 1 (since the outermost shell has only one electron). Therefore, the element with Z = 3 is lithium.

Mass of bullet, m1 = 20g (= 0.02 kg)
Mass of pistol, m2 = 2 kg
Initial velocity of the bullet (u1) and pistol (u2) = 0
Final velocity of the bullet, v1 = +150m s-1
Let v be the recoil velocity of the pistol.
The total momentum of the pistol and bullet is zero before the fire. (Since both are at rest)
Total momentum of the pistol and bullet after it is fired is
= (0.02 kg x 150 m s-1) + (2 kg x v m s-1)
= (3 + 2v) kg m s-1
Total momentum after the fire = Total momentum before the fire
3 + 2v = 0
→v = -1.5 m/s
Thus, the recoil velocity of the pistol is 1.5 m/s.

Law of conservation of momentum states that For two or more bodies in an isolated system acting upon each other, their total momentum remains constant unless an external force is applied. Therefore, momentum can neither be created nor destroyed.
Consider two colliding particles A and B whose masses are m1 and m2 with initial and final velocities as u1 and v1 of A and u2 and v2 of B. The time of contact between two particles is given as t.
A=m1(v1−u1) (change in momentum of particle A)
B=m2(v2−u2) (change in momentum of particle B)
FBA=−FAB (from third law of motion)
FBA=m2∗a2=m2(v2−u2)/ t FAB=m1∗a1=m1(v1−u1)/t m2(v2−u2)/t=−m1(v1−u1)/t
m1u1+m2u2=m1v1+m2v2
Therefore, above is the equation of law of conservation of momentum where m1u1+m2u2 is the representation of total momentum of particles A and B before the collision and m1v1+m2v2 is the representation of total momentum of particles A and B after the collision.

When people sprinkle water on hot and dry roof on a sunny day, that water evaporates by taking energy from the ground, roof and surroundings.
The evaporation of water causes a cooling effect because the large latent heat of vaporization of water helps to cool the hot surface.

- Lysosomes are sphere-shaped sacs filled with hydrolytic enzymes that have the capability to break down many types of biomolecules.
- Lysosomes act as waste disposing of structures by the removal and degradation of undesirable products, both from the outside of the cell and from the inside of the cell.
- In case of a rupture in the lysosome, the enzymes are released in the cytoplasm and end up digesting the contents of the cell, this results in cell death. Due to this, the lysosome is also known as suicide bags of cells.

Momentum The quantity of motion possessed by a moving body is known as momentum of the body.
Momentum of an object of mass m moving with a velocity v is the product of it.
It is denoted by p
p = mv
Its SI unit is kg-ms-1.
As from Newton’s llnd law, rate of change of momentum is equal to force applied.

The Changing of a solid directly into vapours on heating, and of vapours into solid on cooling is called as sublimation.
The solid substance which undergoes sublimation is called sublime.
The solid obtained by cooling the vapours of the solid called a sublimate.
For Ex:camphor,Iodine,Ammonium Chloride,Naphthalene etc.
Effect of Change of Pressure
The physical state of matter can be changed by increasing or decreasing the pressure. When a high pressure is applied to a gas,it gets compressed and when we lower its temperature,it gets liquified.Gases can be liquified by compression and cooling.
For Ex:Solid carbon dioxide is stored under high pressure. This is because on decreasing the pressure on solid carbon dioxide,it gets converted directly into carbon dioxide gas
