Before going to his office, Kezia's father would come to Kezia's room and give her a perfunctory kiss. She would respond with “Goodbye, Father”. Since she was afraid of him, she always felt relieved after his departure.

The poet speaks to the wind with anger.
Yes, strong winds are known to cause plenty of damage and destruction to both life and property.
Storms, cyclones, gales and strong winds cause havoc on land. They uproot trees, bring down houses, tear down electric posts and claim lives. They also cause damage to boats and frighten the poor sailors and fishermen out at sea. Yet, I do not agree with the poet that the wind only ‘crumbles lives’. The wind is responsible for bringing rain; it cools the land and makes the climate pleasant. Today, wind energy is harnessed for several useful purposes including turning windmills, wind turbines and generating electricity.

No, everybody is not fortunate enough to have a cosy bed to lie in when it rains. Not everybody gets to enjoy the comfort of cosy homes during rain. I have seen animals seeking shelter under trees and under the tin roofs of the small roadside tea stalls. The people passing by shoo away these animals and try to shrink themselves under the limited space of these shops. The poor animals are left shivering and drenching on the roads. The shopkeepers of such stalls are delighted as the people waiting for the rain to subside often end up buying tea and snacks.

Toto takes bath in a tub of warm water. It puts its legs in the water one by one and applies soap as well. As monkeys are good at aping others, so Toto has learnt proper steps of bathing while watching the narrator doing same.
Toto is fond of bathing with warm water. So once having tested the warmth of water in the kettle Toto sits in the kettle. Probably he is not intelligent enough to understand the risk of boiling water so he pops his head up and down in the kettle.

Toto was very mischievous. He did not allow other pet animals to sleep at night. Thus, Grandfather decided to take Toto to Saharanpur. A big black canvas bag was arranged for Toto to travel.
The Ticket collector classified Toto as a dog because there was no mention of fare in his rulebook for a monkey to travel in the railways.

He went there and found the old woman in tears. He asked her what had happened. At first, she did not say anything but continued crying. Slowly, she said that her husband who was sleeping had accidentally rolled off the bed and was in pain. She could neither lift him up nor help him get up on his own. Since the old lady was blind, she could not reach out for the telephone to call the doctor or anyone else for help. Shobhit asked her where the old man was and she pointed to a room. When he went there, he found the old man on the floor. Slowly but firmly, he helped the old man get up and lay him on the bed.
He then took his mobile phone and called his friend telling him to bring his car over to the place he directed. The friend arrived shortly and they took the old man to the hospital. Shobhit felt that it was not safe to leave the old lady alone. So, they took her as well. They had to wait for some time to meet the doctor. The old man was graining in pain and his wife as sobbing uncontrollably. Finally, it was their turn to meet the doctor. After examining the patient, the doctor said that it was a case of multiple fracture and he had to undergo an operation. When Shobhit asked the old lady about her children so that he could inform them, she said that she had only one child and that he was abroad. He never visited them and they always managed by themselves. Shobhit decided that he would take the place of the son and requested the doctor to go ahead with the required treatment. From that day, Shobhit considered them as the grandparents he never had. The old man made a speedy recovery and they returned home soon. Shobhit made it a point to check on them daily and find out if there was anything he could do for them.

Abdul Kalam
A boy of ordinary looks, Abdul Kalam had many sterling qualities right from his childhood. He had immense affection and respect for his parents. He inherited the values of honesty and self-discipline from his father and faith in goodness and deep kindness from his mother. Kalam was an enterprising and a hard-working child. He collected tamarind seeds, when they were in demand, and sold them to earn small yet significant amounts. Very confident of himself, he did every piece of work assigned to him with full dedication. He helped his cousin to catch bundles from the running trains when the train-halt at Rameswaram was suspended during the Second World War. He was also a sensitive child and learnt valuable lessons from his experiences. He learnt early in life that caste-based segregation is a poison that must not be allowed to thrive. Kalam was also progressive and took the decision at the right time to leave his hometown to study further and grow in life.

A disaster is a serious disruption in the functioning of a community and society as a fall-out of widespread human, material, or environmental losses that exceed the ability of the affected population to cope with its own resources.
India is a disaster prone country. In fact, there is no country which is immune from disasters which can be classified as-
Types of Disasters: There are two majorly two types of disasters:
Natural disasters Man-made disasters
Natural disasters are the disasters caused due to natural reasons which are beyond the control of humans including floods, hurricanes, earthquakes and volcano eruptions that have immediate impacts on human lives.
Man-made disasters also known as the complex emergencies are the disasters caused due to major accidents like fires, the breakdown of authority, looting and attacks, including conflict situations and war.
Disaster management is a continuous phenomenon of mitigating the impact of the disasters. Disaster management calls for collective and co-ordinated efforts. A number of activities need to be undertaken in the event of disaster. These include co-ordination, command and control, rapid assessment of damage, restoration of power, tele-communication and surface transport, deployment of search and rescue teams, medicals and Para-medical teams, arrangements for drinking water and food material, setting up of temporary shelters, sanitation and hygiene identification and earmarking of resources, last but not the least, maintenance of law and order is equally important.
The most vulnerable sections in these disasters are the poor. Hence it is necessary to mobilize them towards preparedness for any emergency. Quick and timely response is the essence in providing immediate relief and rescue operations, to save human lives and mitigate miseries as soon as possible.
India has set up many departments and organizations for the same i.e. National disaster management authority (ndma), national remote sensing centre (nrsc), central water commission (cwc) etc. And due to the presence of so many authorities it is not feasible for all of them to take steps in a single direction.
Conclusion: Disaster management has assumed great importance in recent times. To handle any unforeseen situation efficiently, we need to be well-equipped with latest technologies. It cannot avert the outbreak of disaster, but can mitigate its impact to a large extent.
