The AVERAGE function will average cells that contain numbers. Its syntax is:
=AVERAGE(value1, value2,...value30).
The arguments (e.g. value1) can be cell references, or values typed into the AVERAGE formula.
The following AVERAGE function example uses one argument -- a reference to cells A1:A5.
- Enter the sample data on your worksheet
- In cell A7, enter an AVERAGE formula, to average the numbers in column A: =AVERAGE(A1:A5)
- Press the Enter key, to complete the formula.
- The result will be 21.83, the average of the cells that contain numbers.
Cell A1 isn't included in the average, because it contains text, and the empty cell C3, is ignored.

- Fetch: Each instruction is stored in memory and has its own address. The processor takes this address number from the program counter, which is responsible for tracking which instructions the CPU should execute next.
- Decode: All programs to be executed are translated to into Assembly instructions. Assembly code must be decoded into binary instructions, which are understandable to your CPU. This step is called decoding.
- Execute: While executing instructions the CPU can do one of three things: Do calculations with its ALU, move data from one memory location to another, or jump to a different address.
- Store: The CPU must give feedback after executing an instruction, and the output data is written to the memory.

Computer Block Diagram System: Mainly computer system consists of three parts, that are central processing unit (CPU), Input Devices, and Output Devices. The Central Processing Unit (CPU) is divided into two parts again: arithmetic logic unit (ALU) and the control unit (CU). The set of instruction is in the form of raw data.
A large amount of data is stored in the computer memory with the help of primary and secondary storage devices. The CPU is like the heart/brain of the computer. The user does not get the desired output, without the necessary option taken by the CPU. The Central processing unit (CPU) is responsible for the processing of all the instructions which are given by the user to the computer system.
<figure>
Fig: Block Diagram of the computer.
The data is entered through input devices such as the keyboard, mouse, etc. This set of instruction is processed by the CPU after getting the input by the user, and then the computer system produces the output. The computer can show the output with the help of output devices to the user, such as monitor, printer, etc.
- CPU (Central Processing Unit)
- Storage Unit
- ALU(Arithmetic Logic Unit)
- Control Unit

While you rehearse, use the Slide Timing feature to record the time that you need to present each slide, and then use the recorded times to advance the slides automatically when you give your presentation to your actual audience. The Slide Timing feature is ideal for creating a self-running presentation.

The full form of CPU is the Central Processing Unit. The CPU socket is a particular section where the CPU is mounted inside the motherboard to perform other outputs and inputs of the system. The CPU’s known as the brain of a computer. It performs all the basic logical and arithmetic operations activities and transmits the commands and programs of the computer. The term CPU is normally used to refer to a processor that consists of the arithmetical logical unit
and control unit.
CPU = ALU + CU
Where
ALU – Arithmetical Logical Unit
CU – control unit

Data refers to the collection of facts and details. It is derived from the Latin word ‘Datum’, and it means ‘something given’. Further, they include text, figures, symbols, observations and more. Moreover, we process this raw fact in order to gain information. Thus, you see that unprocessed data consist of numbers, statements and characters. In other words, it is what is we have before researcher refines it. A lot of organisations, both government and non-government, institutions and more collect data for different types of reasons, mainly scientific research.
Data | Information |
Data is unorganised raw facts that need processing without which it is seemingly random and useless to humans | Information is a processed, organised data presented in a given context and is useful to humans. |
Data is an individual unit that contains raw material which does not carry any specific meaning. | Information is a group of data that collectively carry a logical meaning. |
Data doesn’t depend on information. | Information depends on data. |
It is measured in bits and bytes. | Information is measured in meaningful units like time, quantity, etc. |
Data is never suited to the specific needs of a designer. | Information is specific to the expectations and requirements because all the irrelevant facts and figures are removed, during the transformation process. |
An example of data is a student’s test score | The average score of a class is the information derived from the given data. |
