मासिनराम, मेघालय में स्थित है, जो अपनी प्राकृतिक सुन्दरता और अत्यधिक वर्षा के कारण प्रसिद्ध है। मेघालय के इस स्थान को विश्व में सबसे अधिक वर्षा वाले स्थान के रूप में जाना जाता है।
- मेघालय में स्थित चेरापूंजी और मासिनराम में सबसे ज़्यादा बारिश होती है।
- चेरापूंजी में 1012 से.मी़. तो मासिनराम में उससे अधिक 1221 से.मी़. वर्षा होती है।
- वर्षा में यहाँ ऊँचाई से गिरते पानी के फ़व्वारे और कुहासे जैसे घने बादलों को क़रीब से देखने का अपना ही आनन्द है।
- 'बंगाल की खाड़ी' का मानूसन दक्षिणी हिन्द महासागर की स्थायी पवनों की वह शाखा है, जो भूमध्य रेखा को पार करके भारत में पूर्व की ओर प्रवेश करती है। इसके द्वारा सबसे पहले म्यांमार की अराकान योमा तथा पीगूयोमा पर्वतमालाओं से टकराकर तीव्र वर्षा की जाती है। इसके बाद ये पवनें सीधे उत्तर की दिशा में मुड़कर गंगा के डेल्टा क्षेत्र से होकर खासी पहाड़ियों तक पहुँचती हैं तथा लगभग 15,00 मीटर की ऊँचाई तक उठकर मेघालय के चेरापूंजी तथा मासिनराम नामक स्थानों पर घनघोर वर्षा करती हैं।

- Availability of food- It means the overall food production in the country, stocks from previous years and imports should be sufficient enough to meet the requirements.
- Accessibilty of food- It means that food should be within the reach of every person. There should be no barrier on access to food. It is linked to the supply chain or distribution system of food to ensure its accessibility in markets.
- Affordability of food- It means that individuals have adequate resources to buy sufficient, nutritious and safe food for their requirements. It is linked to food prices as well as individual incomes.
