The Battle of Plassey was a decisive victory of the British East India Company over the Nawab of Bengal and his French allies on 23 June 1757. The battle consolidated the Company's presence in Bengal later expanded to cover much of India over the next hundred years.

Raja Rammohan Roy was a founder of the Brahma Sabha, the precursor of the Brahmo Samaj a socio-religious reform movement in India. His influence was apparent in the fields of politics,public administration,education, and religion. He was known for his efforts to abolish the practices of sati and child marriage. Raja Ram Mohan Roy is considered by many historians as the "father of the Indian Renaissance.His persistent efforts yeildedreults and sati was declared illegal in 1829.

Mineral reserves will exaust with usage and will not be available for the future generations.It takes millions of years for the formation of minerals. Compared to the present rate of consumption, the replenishment rate of minerals is very slow. Hence, mineral resources are finite and non-renewable. Due to this, it is important that we conserve the mineral resources.
