The digestion of fats in the intestine is aided by emulsification. Emulsification is the process of the breaking up of fat globules into much smaller emulsion droplets. This process is performed by the bile salts. Emulsification greatly increases the surface area where water-soluble lipase enzyme breaks lipids into fatty acids and monoglycerides. Bile salt combines with phospholipids in chyme and emulsified the hydrophobic end with lipid and hydrophilic end with water, and break down the insoluble lipid globule into the simple form by enzymatic activity.

Without trees, formerly forested areas would become drier and more prone to extreme droughts. When rain did come, flooding would be disastrous. Massive erosion would impact oceans, smothering coral reefs and other marine habitats.

Rusting is an oxidation reaction. The iron reacts with water and oxygen to form hydrated iron(III) oxide, which we see as rust. Iron and steel rust when they come into contact with water and oxygen – both are needed for rustingto occur.

The size and shape of a cell are related to its function and are governed by four factors—

(1) surface-volume ratio,

(2) nucleocytoplasmic ratio,

(3) rate of cellular activity,

(4) cell associations.

The cell membrane separates the inner content from the outer environment. But this separation does not mean isolation.

When the unlike poles of a bar magnet face each other the magnetic lines of force are in the same direction and hence unlike poles attract each other.

Riya Onkar 4 years, 10 months ago

This is because when the two magnets of like poles are kept facing each other the lines of forces are in opposite directions. So the like poles repel each other. Antibody- When a disease causing microbes enter our body, our internal defensive mechanisms produces substances called Antibodies to fight disease causing microbes.

When a disease-carrying microbe enters our healthy body, the body produces antibodies, body fights and kills them by these antibodies. The body also remembers how to fight the microbe if it enters again. The antibodies remain in the body for a long time and protect us from the disease causing microbes.

Yogita Ingle 4 years, 10 months ago

Friction is the force that acts to resist sliding between two surfaces that are touching. It can slow down or stop the motion of an object. The slowing force of friction always acts in the direction opposite to the force causing the motion. For example, friction slows or stops the motion of moving parts of machines.

Ductility is the property of a metal by virtue of which it can be drawn into wires. For example, copper and aluminium are both malleable and ductile. Sonority is the characteristic of a metal to emit a deep resonant sound when struck. Metals are sonorous and some are used for making bells.

The conversion factor between these two is 1 kg to 9.8 N.

An object that has a mass of 1 kg weighs about 9.8 N.

So if you already know the mass of an object and you want to know its weight in Newtons, you simply multiply the number of kilograms by 9.8 N.

A Cold Storage could be a good place to store fruits and vegetables, moreover as alternative they prolong the life and prevents spoilage of foods. Processed foods like fish and meat want preservation. Foods and plenty of alternative commodities are preserved by storage which retards the activities of micro organisms. Cold Rooms is an excellent plan as they’re going to keep things a lot cooler than regular temperature.
