Agriculture is the main source of income in India since a long time. Even for many decades, India was an agrarian economy. Apart from that India has a large number of agricultural consumers. Due to very high population it becomes necessary for a country like India that it maintains the agriculture sector and works for its benefits. The following methods can be useful for India to make it a vast agrarian country and to reduce malnutrition-

  1. For breeding and seeding, we should select s high quality seed. These crops will have faster growth and higher yield.
  2. The management and collection of the crops should be done very carefully. As, many a times, the crops which are being stored in the go-downs may get spoiled.
  3. The crop should be made available to everyone. The government should not discriminate between the rich and poor.
  4. The information regarding better production of the crops and its care should be made available on multiple platforms such as television and radio. It can help farmers to understand variety of crops and its farming.

Nitrogen is found in abundance in the atmosphere . It is one of the most important nutrient required for plant growth. The atmospheric nitrogen is converted into usable form of nitrogen compound by nitrogen fixation . If the same crops are grown in the field for many years , the soil becomes poor in nutrients like nitrogen and fertility of the soil decreases. The soil can be replenished with nutrients by growing such a crop which is able to fix up the nitrogen like leguminous crop. Rhizobium bacteria present in the root nocludes of leguminous crops fixes atmospheric nitrogen , converts it into usable compound , hence increasing the fertility of the soil .

Mihir Raj 4 years, 4 months ago

Fertilizers- They are inorganic salts. They are produced in factories. They are very rich in nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. They cause water pollution. They don't provide any humus to soil. Manure- These are made by decomposing the dead remains of plants and animals. It is prepared in fields. It provides alot of humus to soil. They donot causa pollution. They are less nutrient rich.
