Because light travels faster than sound

Ann Mary Joseph Joseph 8 years, 1 month ago

It is because of the difference in the speed of sound in air and speed of light in air , the lightining produced in the sky is seen at once , whereas the sound of the thunder is heard a few second later . The light travels at a speed of 300,000km/s and reaches at once , whereas sound travels at a speed of 330 m/s and takes sometime to reach the observer.

Pratibha Meena 8 years, 1 month ago

The speed of light is more than the sound ,So the lightning is seen earlier than thunder the speed of sound is less than lightning ,So we can hear thunder later than seen light ☺️☺️

Sir Isaac Newton is a scientist, best known for his work on gravity. He also worked on and discovered many other scientific wonders during his lifetime (1642-1727). His work in physics was so advanced that he was the first scientist to be knighted, which is a great honor in England and the reason "Sir" precedes his name.

Newton also made pathbreaking contributions to optics, and he shares credit with Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz for developing the infinitesimal calculus. Newton's Principal formulated the laws of motion and universal gravitation that dominated scientists' view of the physical universe for the next three centuries.
