Myopia : Myopia is the term used to define being shortsighted. A myopic person has clear vision when looking at objects close to them, but distant objects will appear blurred. This is because light is focused in front of the retina and, being too far forward in the eye, things in the distance look blurred.
Hypermetropia : Hypermetropia, sometimes called hyperopia, is the term used to define being longsighted. If you are hypermetropic, the image of a nearby object is formed behind the retina. This means that light is focused too far back in the eye, causing things which are close up to appear blurred.

An electromagnet is a magnet that is created using an electric current, created by electricity.
Electromagnets are made out of a coil of wire (wire curled in series). This is more effective in producing a magnetic field than just a wire running straight. This effect can be strengthened by winding a wire tightly around a powerful core, made of magnetic material, such as iron.

Atmospheric pressure is the air pressure which is exerted by the weight of air present in the atmosphere. Its SI unit is Pascal.
Atmospheric pressure is due to the weight of air present in the atmosphere above us.Atmospheric pressure also acts in all directions. On the surface of earth, the atmospheric pressure is maximum at the sea level. This is because the column of air above us is tallest at the sea level .The atmospheric pressure on the surface of earth is 101.3 kilo Pascal.

When you fill a balloon with water instead of air, the water absorbs most of the heat, so the rubber doesn't get very hot. Water has a very high heat capacity, much higher than air, so it will keep the balloon from bursting.

An electroscope is a device for detecting, measuring & finding the nature of a charge. An electroscope consists of a large jar. A metal rod is fitted into the mouth of the jar with the help of the cork. At the lower end of the metal rod a pair of thin leaves of gold or aluminium is suspended.
Charge the electroscope with a known charge, say with negative charge, by touching a negatively charged ebonite rod to the metal disc of the electroscope. The leaves of the electroscope open up (diverge).
Now touch the body to be tested with the metal disc of the charged electroscope.
* If the divergence of the leaves increases, the body has similar charge that is the given body is also negatively charged.
* If the divergence of the leaves decreases, the body has unlike charge that is the given body is positively charged.
