Polyester is made of repeating units of a chemical called ester. Polyester is often used in pants, shirts, suits, and bed sheets either by itself or as a blend, because of its wrinkle-resistant property and its ability to retain its shape.
- Terylene is a popular polyester which is used in dress materials.
- PET (Poly Ethylene Terephthalate) is another example of polyester. It is used for making bottles, utensils, films, wires and many other items.
- Polyester fabrics do not wrinkle easily and are easy to wash.

When oil or grease is applied between the moving parts of a machine ,a thin layer of oil or grease is formed between the two rubbing surfaces. This layer of oil separates the two rubbing surfaces a little bit due to which their interlocking is reduced to a large extent. This friction is reduced and movement becomes smooth. When oil or grease is applied to the moving parts of a machine, then their surfaces do not rub directly against each other, they rub through a layer of oil and grease .
