Hi there! We breathe a mixture of gases known as air. But when this mixture of gases goes into our body in our blood we have haemoglobin which only extracts oxygen which travels into our body and the other gases we exhale. Long story short we do breathe a mixture of gases but we can respire only oxygen and carbon monoxide which is a poisonous gas(you will read it in higher classes). Thanks!

Uses of electroplating

  • Chromium plating is done on various objects like car parts, wheel rims, bath taps, etc.
  • Plating of silver or gold is done on less expensive metals by jewelers.
  • Iron parts in bridges and automobiles are plated with zinc.
  • Tin cans for storing food are made by electroplating tin onto iron.

  1. 1.We can not fix nail in the wood or wall if there is no friction. It is friction which holds the nail.
  2. 2. A horse can not pull a cart unless friction furnishes him a secure foothold.
  3. 3. you can sit on a chair but won't be able to get upon without Friction.
  4. 4.You can't wear your dress,flipper etc without Friction.
  5. 5. Friction helps you in writing as your pen or pencil won't work on Friction less surface.
  6. 6. Friction helps in applying the brakes.

The force of friction may alter depending on the following factors that affect it:

  • When two smooth surfaces are in contact, then the degree of friction between them is small because the interlocking between smooth surfaces is less.
  • When two rough surfaces in contact, then the degree of friction between them is large because the interlocking of between rough surfaces is too much.
  • It also depends on the weight of the object or on the amount of force applied on the surface by the object.

Gas particles have broken away from the intermolecular forces that hold liquids and solids together. An alternative name for intermolecular forces is the van der Waals forces. They include London Dispersion Forces, dipole-dipole forces, and hydrogen bonds. In liquids, the intermolecular forces are strong enough to keep the particles tied upon to each other but not strong enough to keep them in fixed positions. ... In gases, the intermolecular forces are negligible (extremely weak), and the constituent particles are free to move.

The angles of incidence and reflection are measured with respect to the normal to the surface. When a ray of light is reflected, the reflected ray lies in the same plane as the incident ray and the normal and the incident ray, reflected ray, and the normal, all lie in the same plane. A plane mirror is a mirror with a flat (planar) reflective surface. For light rays striking a plane mirror, the angle of reflection equals the angle of incidence. The angle of the incidence is the angle between the incident ray and the surface normal (an imaginary line perpendicular to the surface).

When a ray of light passes from a denser material (eg water or glass) into a less dense material (eg air) it is bent towards the surface between the two materials. This means that in this situation the angle of refraction is always greater than the angle of incidence. The bending occurs because light travels more slowly in a denser medium. ... Figure (b): Shine the light into the glass at an angle. As the light enters the water, it is refracted. Since the light is passing from air (less dense) into water (more dense), it is bent towards the normal.

Friction is a force that is created by two surfaces that come into contact.  Depending upon the two surfaces that are doing the contacting, a little or a lot of destructive power may be created.  This depends on the roughness or smoothness of the surfaces.  Each surface, microscopically speaking, has lots of tiny grooves or cracks in it.  When the two surfaces contact, the grooves and cracks interlock with each other, making movement between the two surfaces difficult.  Heat is a common product generated by the two surfaces, as they contact each other.  A good example of friction is rubbing your two hands together.  In a short amount of time, enough friction will be created to heat your hands up.  Different amounts of friction may also be demonstrated by using different surfaces, such as pushing a loaded box across carpet (rough) and a tile floor (smooth).

Tropical cyclones are like giant engines that use warm, moist air as fuel. That is why they form only over warm ocean waters near the equator. The warm, moist air over the ocean rises upward from near the surface. Factors like wind speed, wind direction, temperature, and humidity contribute to the development of a cyclone. The center of the cyclone is a cloudless calm area this is called the eye. In this area, winds are not very strong and there is no rainfall.

The ear is the organ of hearing around us. Sound wave are collected by the pinna and than directed through ear canal sound waves on striking the ear drum make it vibrate exactly the same way as the give sound emitting object. The bones in thge middle ear start vibrating when ear drum vibrate. It helps in magnifying the vibration. When the magnifying vibration reach the cochlea in the inner ear the fluid in it starts vibrating. These vibrating picked up by sensory receptors and converted into electrical signal. These electrical signal then travel to the brain which interprets sound

An ion is an atom or group of atoms where the number of electrons is not equal to the number of protons. ... This type of ion is called an anion. When an atom loses electrons, this results in a positive charge. A positively charged ion is called a cation. Let's explore several ion examples of both types. An ion is defined as an atom or molecule that has gained or lost one or more of its valence electrons, giving it a net positive or negative electrical charge. In other words, there is an imbalance in the number of protons (positively charged particles) and electrons (negatively charged particles) in a chemical species.

When we are in a dark room it is obvious that light is not present as light helps us to see as when it falls on an object it reflects itself back into our eye which helps us to obtain the image of an object. So in dark room it is not possible to see objects whereas when we move out in well lit room light is present and helps us to see objects.
