Amoebas eat algae, bacteria, plant cells, and microscopic protozoa and metazoa – some amoebas are parasites. They eat by surrounding tiny particles of food with pseudopods, forming a bubble-like food vacuole. The food vacuole digests the food. Pathogenic free-living amoebae are found in many natural and human-made microenvironments, mostly living by bacteria feeding. However, in certain situations they can cause serious infections in humans.

Synthetic fibers are made from small molecules synthesized polymers. The substances used to produce such fibers are extracted from raw materials such as chemicals based on petroleum or petrochemicals. Such materials are polymerized into a chemical that ties together two adjacent atoms of carbon. Like natural fibers, synthetic fibers do not easily take up colors. These fibers can burn faster than natural fibers. They are prone to damage to heat and easily melt.
