one pesticide used to kill insects and harm crops is DDT, on the other DDT atrazine is a pesticide as well as it is also used to kill the insect which harms our crop. Pesticides are poisons and, unfortunately, they can harm more than just the “pests” at which they are targeted. They are toxic, and exposure to pesticides can cause a number of health effects. They are linked to a range of serious illnesses and diseases from respiratory problems to cancer.

When plants are cultivated in ground field in a large scale is called crops ( in simple words)

Sukhman Kaur 5 years, 3 months ago

Crop :- when plants of the same kind are cultivated at one place on a large scale , it is called a crop. Example:- crop of wheat means that all the plants grown in a field are that of wheat. Microorganisms :- Microorganisms are microscopic organisms that cannot be seen with the naked eye. These organisms are usually unicellular in nature.

Gaurav Seth 5 years, 3 months ago

Crop is a plant of the same kind that is grown on a large scale to get useful products and to meet nutritional needs in an area by man. For example, all the plants of wheat grown in a field are called wheat crop. Similarly, all the plants of rice grown in a field are called rice crop.

The plants which are grown at home or on small scale of area are not said to be crops.

An organelle found in large numbers in most cells, in which the biochemical processes of respiration and energy production occur. It has a double membrane, the inner part being folded inwards to form layers (cristae).

Mitochondria are known as the powerhouses of the cell. They are organelles that act like a digestive system which takes in nutrients, breaks them down, and creates energy rich molecules for the cell. The biochemical processes of the cell are known as cellular respiration.

Microorganisms almost live in all over the earth

Atavistic Hero 5 years, 3 months ago

microorganism or microbe is an organism which is microscopic, which means so small that people cannot see them with naked eye. The study of microorganisms is called microbiology. Microorganisms include bacteria, fungi, archaea, protists and viruses, and are among the earliest known life forms. The first of these four types of microorganisms may either be free-living or parasitic. Viruses can only be parasitic, since they always reproduce inside other living things.[1][2][3] Most micro-organisms are unicellular organism with only one cell, but there are unicellular protists that are visible to the human eye, and some multicellular species are microscopic. Microorganisms live almost everywhere on earth where there is liquid water, including hot springs on the ocean floor and deep inside rocks within the earth's crust. Such habitats are lived in by extremophiles. Microorganisms are critical to nutrient recycling in ecosystems, because they act as decomposers. Because some microorganisms can also take nitrogen out of the air, they are an important part of the nitrogen cycle. Pathogenic, or harmful, microbes can invade other organisms and cause disease

Matter is everything around you. Atoms and compounds are all made of very small parts of matter. Those atoms go on to build the things you see and touch every day. Matter is defined as anything that has mass and takes up space (it has volume).

Acrylic is the name of the synthetic fiber that works like wool.

Explanation:

Wool is an example of natural fiber which is obtained from sheep or yak. It is used in the manufacturing of woolen cloth which is used during winter and cold season.

Acrylic is a synthetic fiber which resembles wool in its function and its structure. It is cheap and highly durable than natural fiber wool. This also prevents shearing process done in Sheeps.

If a fertilizer is completely water-soluble, it will remain in the soil only as long as the soil is reasonably dry. But if it rains, the water will dissolve the fertilizer quickly, and some will flow away with the water, especially if the soil is porous. Depending on the amount of fertilizer consumed, it may cause disturbances of the kidneys, lungs and liver and even cause cancer. This is due to the toxic metals that fertilizers have. Fertilizers remove the nutrients of the soil, damaging the soil and the local environment.

Cells are the basic units of life. All living things (plants and animals) are made up of cells. They have different shapes and sizes for different organisms. Most of the cells are very small and cannot be seen with naked eye. They can only be seen with the help of a microscope.

Cells in the living organisms are complex living structures unlike non-living bricks. The egg of a hen represents a single cell and is big enough to be seen by the unaided eye.

1. The preparation of soil is the first step before growing a crop. 2. One of the most inportant tasks in agriculture is to turn the soil and loosen it . this allows the roots to penetrate deep into the soil. This allows the roots to beneath easily even when they go deep into the soil.

The process by which huge rocks are broken down into small particles by the action of sun’s heat, wind, rain and flowing river water etc. is called weathering. Soil is formed from rocks by the process of weathering. In this process rocks are broken down very slowly by the action of sun’s heat, wind, rain, flowing river water etc. to form tiny particles. These tiny rock particles then mix up with humus to form fertile soil. It is called weathering because the rocks are worn away to form small particles by long exposure to the elements of weather. Weathering of rocks is very very slow process. It takes thousands of years to weather huge rocks into fine particles fit to make soil.

Cropping patterns:

These are models of raising crops which help in obtaining maximum benefit from the same piece of land, reduce risk of crop failure, disease and infestation. Some of the common types of cropping patterns are:

a. Mixed cropping:

Mixed cropping is growing two or more crops simultaneously on the same piece of land, for example, wheat + gram, or wheat + mustard, or groundnut + sunflower.

b. Intercropping:

Inter-cropping is growing two or more crops simultaneously on the same field in a definite pattern. A few rows of one crop alternate with a few rows of a second crop, for example, soyabean + maize, or finger millet (bajra) + cowpea (lobia). The crops are selected such that their nutrient requirements are different.

Coal was formed from the naturally buried trees animals plants under the earth crust

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 3 months ago

Coal was formed by the decomposition of large land plants and trees buried under the Earth about 300 million years ago.About 300 million years ago, the Earth had dense forests in the low lying wet areas.Due to natural calamities like earthquakes, volcanoes, floods, etc. these forests got buried under the surface of the Earth. As more soil got deposited on them, they were compressed. As a result, the temperature also rose as they sank deeper and deeper.Due to high pressure and temperature and the absence of air, the wood of the buried forest plants and trees slowly got converted into coal. The slow process by which the dead plants buried under the Earth have become coal is called as carbonisation. Since coal was formed from the remains of the plants, it is called a fossil fuel.Coal, which is mainly carbon, on heating produces mainly carbon dioxide gas and a lot of heat energy.

Even 10x or 25x magnification is usually enough to see some of the tiny life forms living in the water. Step 1: Use the eyedropper to get some water from one of your samples. Place 1 drop of water on the microscope slide and place it under the microscope to examine it. Any drop of untreated water, from a lake, a river, or the ocean, is a world in miniature. The drop can contain thousands of tiny organisms, such as algae, protozoans, bacteria, and viruses.

Farmers use many ways to remove weeds and control their growth.
Tilling before sowing of crops helps in uprooting and killing weeds, which may then dry up and get mixed with the soil. The best time for the removal of weeds is before they produce flowers and seeds.
The following tools may be installed
i. Khurpi - The Khurpi is used to remove of weeds by uprooting or cutting them from time to time.
ii. Seed Drill - A seed drill is also used to uproot weeds.
iii. Weedicides - Weeds are also controlled by using weedicides.
