Amphoteric oxides and hydroxides share the property of being able to behave as acids. An amphoteric oxide is one that can act as either an acid or a base. Generally, non-metallic oxides are acidic and metallic oxides are basic. Metallic oxides, which show the basic as well as acidic nature, are known as amphoteric oxides. Elements that form amphoteric oxides have some characteristics of metals and some of the non-metals.
Amphoteric oxides react with both acids and alkalis to form salt and water. Examples of amphoteric oxides are zinc oxide and aluminum oxide.
ZnO(s) + 2HCl(aq) → ZnCl2(aq) + H2O(l)

Polyester is a long chain polymer of a chemical substance called ester.
- “Polyester” is a “synthetic Polymer” and it consists of multiple repeated chemical units are called esters.
- Polyesters are made by condensation reactions reaction. It is occurred between alcohol and a carboxylic acid. These “two functional groups” are linked by the ester linkage. For example, polyethylene terephthalate is formed by the condensation reaction between “terephthalic acid” and “ethylene glycol” by the elimination of water molecules.
- Carboxylic group of terephthalic acid and hydroxy group of ethylene glycol is connected by the ester linkage.

A neutralization reaction is when an acid and a base react to form water and salt and involves the combination of hydrogen ions and hydroxyl ions to generate water. The neutralization of a strong acid and strong base has a pH equal to 7.
Example : When Sodium hydroxide is added to hydrochloric acid. Sodium chloride and water are formed.
NaOH+HCl ⟶ NaCl+H2O

Spirogyra is also known as pond silk, as its filaments shine like silk due to the presence of mucilage. ... Spirogyra is a genus of green algae that belong to the order Zygnematales. These free-flowing, filamentous algae are characterized by ribbon-shaped chloroplasts that are arranged in a helical manner inside the cells. However, Penicillium is a genus of ascomycetous fungi that is of major importance in the natural environment, in food spoilage, and in food and drug production. Some members of the genus produce penicillin, a molecule that is used as an antibiotic, which kills or stops the growth of certain kinds of bacteria.

To maintain the fertility of the soil following natural methods are used:
- Field fallow: The land is left free or fallow for one or more seasons to naturally regain the nutrients.
- Mixed cropping: It is the practice of growing two or more crops simultaneously on the same piece of field. For example, if a cereal crop such as w7heat is grown along with a leguminous crop such as pulse (e.g., gram).
- Crop rotation: It is the process of growing a crop in between two similar crops. For example, wheat crop is planted during the month of November and harvested in March and April. Rice crop is planted in June-July and harvested in October- November. Now in between these two seasons, the land lies empty. Instead of leaving it as it is, the farmers plant a pulse crop in this time.

Take a plastic bottle.Fix a small glass tube above the bottom of the plastic bottle. We should seal the joint of glass tube with plastic bottle by using molten wax so that water does not leak from the joint. Tie a thin sheet of rubber tightly on the open end of glass tube. Now fill half of plastic bottle with water. On filling water, the rubber sheet tied to the mouth of glass tube gets stretched and bulges out. The bulging out of rubber sheet tied to the glass tube fixed in the wall of plastic bottle demonstrates that water present in plastic bottle exerts pressure on the walls of the bottle. It is the sideways pressure exerted by water which inflates the thin rubber sheet forming a buldge. If we pour more water in the plastic bottle to increase depth, we will see that the bulge in the rubber sheet increases. This indicates that the pressure exerted by water increases with increasing depth.

In GIFT, both sperm and unfertilised oocytes are transferred into fallopian tubes, after which fertilisation takes place in vivo (inside the body of the female). The success rate of this technique is 27–30%.Because the eggs and sperm are placed into the fallopian tubes before conception, there's no way to know if fertilization has taken place prior to transfer.
In ZIFT, The zygote or the early embryo, up to 8 blastomeres, is transferred into the fallopian tube. With ZIFT the sperm and egg are mixed together in the laboratory, and given time to fertilize before being transferred to the fallopian tubes thus lowering the number of eggs used and correspondingly the chances for multiple pregnancy.
