Hair is made up of proteins, which are dead cells. They are attached to the scalp with living cells, from where they grow. So, while getting a haircut a person does not feel pain because dead cells are being cut, but when it is pulled from scalp the living cells are also being pulled along.

Cotton clothes are thin and do not have space in which air can be trapped. Thus, cotton clothes do not prevent heat coming out of our body. Woollen clothes keep us warm during winter because wool is a poor conductor of heat and it has air trapped in between the fibres

All plants and animals require food for their growth and getting energy. The process of utilization of food by an animal to obtain energy for growth and development is known as nutrition.
Carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals are essential components of food, these components are called nutrients

Acids in water solution dissociates H+ ions. Let us consider the reaction between water and hydrochloric acid (HCl). HCl in presence of water produces H+ ion. This ion cannot exist alone and hence combines with water molecules and forms H3O+. The reaction is as follows:

Base when dissolved in water produces OH- ion. Let us consider the reaction between water and sodium hydroxide NaOH. NaOH in presence of water produces OH- ion.

Therefore the neutralisation stands out as follows:

Animals often adapt themselves to the climatic conditions in which they are living. For example, a polar bear has a thick skin and a layer of fat and is adapted for Polar Regions. These conditions keep the animal warm.

When an iron nail immersed in the solution of copper sulphate than iron displaces copper from the solution of copper sulphate because iron is more reactive than copper. Therefore copper sulphate solution colour changes from blue to pale green.
The reaction is
CuSO4 (aq) + Fe (s) → FeSO4 (aq) + Cu (s)

- The clinical thermometer is used to measure body temperature, however, laboratory thermometer is not used for the purpose of measuring body temperature.
- The temperature range of clinical thermometers is 35°C to 42°C and that of laboratory thermometers is -10°C to 110°C.
- The least count of both the thermometers is different.
- The clinical thermometer is can be tilted while reading the temperature values whereas laboratory thermometer need to be kept upright.

Breeding sheep with special characters,selective breeding (also called artificial selection) is the process by which humans use animal breeding and plant breeding to selectively develop particular phenotype traits (characteristics) by choosing which typically animal or plant males and females will sexually reproduce and have offspring together. Domesticated animals are known as breeds, normally bred by a professional breeder, while domesticated plants are known as varieties, cultivates, or cultivars. Two purebred animals of different breeds produce a crossbreed, and crossbred plants are called hybrids.

Autatrophs mean-
Auto-Self
Trophes- norishment {self-nourishment}
Autotrophs are the organisms which exhibit autotrophic mode of nutrition. Autotrophs are organisms which can synthesise their own food by the process of photosynthesis. Plants and some bacteria that can synthesise their own food and are called as autotrophs.

- Plants that eat insects are called insectivorous plants. They trap and digest insects. Pitcher plant is the example of an insectivorous plant.
- The soil of marshy land is deficient in nitrogen. Plants living in marshy areas do not get nitrogen from the soil. To fulfill their nitrogenous needs, they need to eat insects.

Plants like pitcher plant are green and carry out photosynthesis to obtain a part of the food required by them. But they do not get the nitrogen from the soil in which they grow. So, insectivorous or carnivorous plants feed on insects to obtain the nitrogen needed for their growth. Once they obtain the nitrogen, the carnivorous plants are able to build enzymes, chlorophyll and other structures and carry out photosynthesis to make their own food. ... And, unlike carnivorous animals, carnivorous plants do not capture prey for food energy… but just for the required building blocks.

Kepler’s 2nd law: Law of Areas
Statement:-The line that joins a planet to the sun sweeps out equal areas in equal intervals of time.
- Area covered by the planet while revolving around the sun will be equal in equal intervals of time. This means the rate of change of area with time is constant.
- Suppose position and momentum of planet is denoted by ‘r’ and ‘p’ and the time taken will be Δt.
- ΔA=1/2xrxvΔt (where vΔt is distance travelled by a planet in Δt time.)
- ΔA / Δt =1/2(rxv)
- where
- (Linear momentum) p=mv or we can write as
- v =p/m
- =1/2m(rxp)
- =1/2 L/2m where L= angular momentum(It is constant for any central force)
ΔA / Δt = constant (This means equal areas are covered in equal intervals of time).

Mass (m) = 1.35 kg
Side (a) = 15 cm = 0.15 m
Volume of a cube = side x side x side = 0.153 =0.003375 cu. M
Density (ρ) = Mass (m) / Volume (V)
=> ρ = 1.35/0.003375
=> ρ = 400 Kg/m3

Rearing and breeding of sheep :
- Apart from grazing sheep, rearers also feed them on a mixture of pulses, corn, jowar, oil cakes (material left after taking out oil from seeds) and minerals and In winter, sheep are kept indoors and fed on leaves, grain and dry fodder.
- Sheeps are reared in many parts of our country and Certain breeds of sheep have thick coat of hair on their body which yieldsgood quality wool in large quantities.
- Once the reared sheep have developed a thick growth of hair, hair is shaved off for getting wool.

The transfer of heat because of movement of the molecules of the medium; via mass transfer; is called convection or convection of heat.
Water and air are bad conductors of heat. But they do become hot, in spite of being bad conductors. Heat transfer in fluids takes place through convection.

Eagle-eagles have a highly efficient digestive system. Food is swallowed and passes through the esophagus to the crop, where it can be stored. ... Undigested food (bones and fur) regurgitated back up through the mouth as a pellet food pass.
