The process by which plants make their own food in the presence of sunlight, carbon-dioxide present in air, water, minerals and chlorophyll present in leaves is termed as photosynthesis.
Green plants make their food themselves. Green leaves make food from Carbon dioxide and water in the presence of sunlight and chlorophyll.
Leaves have several tiny pore-like structures on the lower surface. Such a pore is called stomata through which leaves absorb carbon dioxide from air. Water is transported to the leaves through hair like pipelines from the roots. These pipelines are present throughout the plant, i.e. from roots to branches and leaves. These pipe-lines are known as Xylem. Xylem is a type of tissue. Chlorophyll, a green pigment, is found in green leaves. Chlorophyll absorbs sunlight and gives energy. Chloroplast is the site of photosynthesis. Carbohydrate is used as food and oxygen is emitted out to atmosphere. This whole process of making food by plants is called photosynthesis.
The reaction that takes place in the process of photosynthesis can be written as:
6CO2 + 6H2O → C6H12O6 + 6O2

In a pendulum, the bob is said to complete one oscillation, when it moves from one position and comes back to the same position.
The motion of pendulum starting from one extreme end to another extreme end and back to the first extreme end is called one oscillation. Similarly, the motion of a simple pendulum from its mean position to extreme left and extreme right and back to the mean position is called one oscillation.

Bases may either be soluble or insoluble in water. Therefore, all alkalis are bases because they will all neutralize acids, but not all bases are alkalis because not all bases will dissolve in water. An example of an alkali is sodium hydroxide.

Dilution of concentrated acid is an exothermic process. If water is added to a concentrated acid, the heat generated may cause the mixture to splash out and cause burns. When the acid is added to water slowly with constant stirring, the mixture will not splash out.

- Ingestion – Ingestion refers to the intake of food. Ingestion takes place through Mouth
- Digestion – Digestion refers to the breakdown of ingested food into simpler forms. Teeth, Stomach, Small intestine and secretion from various glands help in Digestion
- Absorption – Absorption refers to the process in which digested food is absorbed into the body fluids (Blood & lymph). Small intestine plays a major role in Absorption
- Assimilation – Assimilation refers to the process in which absorbed food is transported to different cells of the body
- Egestion – Egestion refers to the process of removal of undigested food from the body. Large intestine plays a major role in Egestion

We find animals of certain kind living in particular climatic conditions because every living organism is adapted to live in the particular habitat. Every living thing develops their feature according to the area they live in.
For example, penguins have thick skin to protect themselves from cold and webbed feet to swim in water. It will not be able to survive in the hot climate of tropical regions as they developed thick skin for the protection from cold not from the hot and humid temperature.

Decomposers are organisms that feeds on dead or decaying organisms so, they carry out the natural process of decomposition.
When plants and animals die, they become food for decomposers like bacteria, fungi and earthworms. They recycle dead plants and animals into chemical nutrients like carbon and nitrogen that are released back into the soil, air and water.
