Consequences of Deforestation
(i) Agriculture: The conversion of forests into agricultural land is one of the major causes of deforestation. Many forest cover has been converted into agricultural lands in order to satisfy the growing needs of the people. It is estimated more than 5 lakh hectares of forest area is been converted into agricultural land every year.
(ii) Logging: Commercial logging along with illegal logging contributes a lot to deforestation around the world. Trees are cut down in order to obtain firewood and building materials due to overpopulation and the growing demands.
(iii) Mining: Environmental problems such as loss of biodiversity, erosion, contamination of soil and water are mainly caused due to the mining process. Due to the growing demand of minerals, the impact of mining on forests is rising day by day. In some places, the trees are cut down in the surroundings of the mining region to increase the place for the storage of soil and created debris.
(iv) Rapid growth in the industries: As urbanization and industrialization are growing at a very fast rate, trees have been cut off in order to meet the needs of the evolution. This has an adverse effect on the ecosystem.
(v) Forest fires: Forest fires also lead to a large loss of the forest cover. Each year, fires burn millions of hectares of forest worldwide. The resulting loss has wide-reaching consequences on climate, biodiversity, and the economy.

Rainbows happen when sunlight and rain combine in a very specific way. The beams of sunlight separate into the colors we see in the rainbow as they enter a raindrop. Sunlight is actually made up of different colors that we don’t usually see. When a beam of sunlight comes down to Earth, the light is white. But, if the light beam happens to hit raindrops on the way down at a certain angle, the different colors that make up the beam separate so that we can see them — in the form of a rainbow.
The angle for each color of a rainbow is different, because the colors slow down at different speeds when they enter the raindrop. The light exits the raindrop in one color, depending on the angle it came in, so we see only one color coming from each raindrop. Light at different angles coming through many raindrops form the rainbow that we see, in stripes of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet.
