The concave mirror is that mirror in which reflection of light takes place at the concave surface like the mirror whose reflecting surface is bent inward is a concave mirror. The concave mirror is a converging mirror. The focus of a concave mirror is a point in front of the mirror at which parallel rays of light converge after reflection from the concave mirror. Whereas the convex mirror is that mirror in which reflection of light takes place at the convex surface like the mirror whose reflecting surface is bulging outward is a convex mirror. The convex mirror is a diverging mirror. The focus of a convex mirror is a point behind the mirror from which parallel rays of light falling on convex mirror appear to diverge after reflection from convex mirror.

These are large plants where wastewater is cleaned before being sent to the nearest water bodies or being reused. The sewage treatment involves physical, chemical and biological processes to remove impurities from the wastewater.
Physical Process:
1. Filtration: The wastewater is passed through bar screen. Large objects; like rags, sticks, plastic bags, cans, etc. are removed in this process.
2. Grit and Sand Removal: The wastewater is slowly passed through the sedimentation tank. Grit, sand and pebbles settle down at the bottom.
3. Sedimentation: Water is then sent to the sedimentation tank. Solids; like faeces settle at the bottom. Floatable impurities; like oil and grease float on the surface. A scraper removes the faeces from the water. The impurity thus collected is called sludge; which is sent to the sludge tank. The sludge can be used to produce biogas or to produce manure. A skimmer removes the floatable impurities. Now, the water is called clarified water.

The whole process in which water evaporates and falls on the land as rain and later flows back into the sea via rivers is known as the water-cycle. The organisms get water from and return it to the global water cycle. Plants absorb water from the soil or water reservoir and add it to the air in vapour form by a process called transpiration. Water transpired by trees cools the surrounding air. Animals take water from the water reservoir or with food and return it to the air and vapours by respiration or to the soil by excretion. Mammals also excrete water as sweat which evaporates from the water bodies. Water is added to the environment by the death and decay of organisms. Water vapour formed by transpiration and respiration form clouds and enters global water cycle. Rain adds water to the soil and reservoir for reuse by plants and animals. This completes the water cycle.

Convection currents describe the rising, spread, and sinking of gas, liquid, or molten material caused by the application of heat. ... Tremendous heat and pressure within the earth cause the hot magma to flow in convection currents. These currents cause the movement of the tectonic plates that make up the earth's crust. The crust moves because of movements deep inside the earth. Heat rising and falling inside the mantle creates convection currents generated by radioactive decay in the core. The convection currents move the plates. Plate tectonics cause earthquakes and volcanoes.

Light is a type of energy. It is a form of electromagnetic radiation of a wavelength which can be detected by the human eye. It is a small part of the electromagnetic spectrum and radiation given off by stars like the sun. Light exists in tiny energy packets called photons. Light is a form of energy that enables us to see all the things around us. The main source of light on the earth is the sun. Plants are able to prepare their own food using sunlight. Some other objects also give out light. They are known as luminous objects.

A compact fluorescent lamp (CFL), also called compact fluorescent light, energy-saving light and compact fluorescent tube, is a fluorescent lamp designed to replace an incandescent light bulb; some types fit into light fixtures designed for incandescent bulbs. The lamps use a tube which is curved or folded to fit into the space of an incandescent bulb, and a compact electronic ballast in the base of the lamp.

Breathing involves the movement of the diaphragm and the rib cage. Breathing involves two steps:
During inhalation, ribs move up and outwards and diaphragm moves down. This movement increases space in our chest cavity and air rushes into the lungs. The lungs get filled with air. The muscles between the ribs contract causing the rib cage to move upward and outward.
During exhalation, ribs move down and inwards, while diaphragm moves up to its former position. This reduces the size of the chest cavity and air is pushed out of the lungs. As the chest cavity becomes smaller air is pushed out from the lungs. Take a deep breath. Keep your palm on the abdomen, feel the movement of abdomen.

Linear momentum is defined as the product of a system’s mass multiplied by its velocity. In symbols, linear momentum is expressed as p = mv.
Momentum is directly proportional to the object’s mass and also its velocity. Thus the greater an object’s mass or the greater its velocity, the greater its momentum. Momentum p is a vector having the same direction as the velocity v. The SI unit for momentum is kg · m/s.

- The smooth surface of still water acts like a mirror.
- The sheet of paper produces irregular reflection of light as the surface is dull and rough.
- The image formed in a plane mirror is at the same distance behind the mirror as the object is in front of the mirror.
- The distance of image from the mirror is equal to the distance of object from the mirror.
- The right side of the body becomes the left side in the image and vice versa when seen in mirror.
- There are two types of spherical mirrors i.e. concave and convex mirror.
