Pollination. It is the transfer of pollen grains from the anther to stigma.
Pollination is of two types :
1. Self-pollination. It is also called autogamy. The pollen grains are transferred from the anther to the stigma of the same flower. e.g hibiscus.
2. Cross-pollination. It is also called allogamy. If the transfer of pollen takes place from anther to stigma of a different flower of same plant, it is known as Geitonogamy. e.g Maize.
On the other hand, if cthe transfer occurs from anther to stigma of a different flower of different plant, it is called the Xenogamy. e.g papaya.

The angular size of the book, or its image at the greater distance, is evidently less than the angular size when the book is placed at 25 cm while not using spectacles. Hence a myopic person prefers to remove his spectacles while reading a book. In short because with spectacles he/she can't able to read. Because myopia is that defect of vision due to which a person cannot see the distant objects clearly but a person can see the nearby objects clearly. So the myopic person can remove his spectacles while reading book.

The evaporation of water from the leaves of the plants is called transpiration. It is the process of water movement through a plant and its evaporation from aerial parts, such as from leaves but also from stems and flowers. Water is necessary for plants but only a small amount of water taken up by the roots is used for growth and metabolism. The remaining 99 - 99.5% is lost by transpiration. Leaf surfaces are dotted with pores called stomata, and in most plants they are more numerous on the undersides of the foliage.

The decomposers play an importnat role in the ecosystem.
They breakdown the organic waste products and dead remains of organisms into the inorganic substances needed by the producers (plants). They break down the complex organic substances into simple inorganic substances that replenish the fertility of the soil. They also serve as food for organisms like earthworms.

The normal number of WBCs in the blood is 4,500 to 11,000 WBC per microliter.
A normal platelet count ranges from 150,000 to 450,000 platelets per microliter of blood.

Electric Bell: It consists of a coil of wire wound on an iron piece. The coil acts as an electromagnet. An iron strip with a hammer at one end is kept close to the electromagnet. There is a contact screw near the iron strip. When the iron strip is in contact with the screw, the current flows through the coil which becomes an electromagnet. It, then, pulls the iron strip. In the process, the hammer at the end of the strip strikes the gong of the bell to produce a sound. However, when the electromagnet pulls the iron strip, it also breaks the circuit. The current through the coil stops flowing. The coil is no longer an electromagnet. It does not attract the iron strip. The iron strip comes back to its original position and touches the contact screw again. This completes the circuit. The current flows in the coil and the hammer strikes the gong again. The clapper strikes the gong rapidly producing almost continuous sound. This is how the bell rings.
